Scary good? Eh...I don't see what you're seeing. This is the same group, other than a new starter at DE (DeVito from the Jets) and ILB (Jordan from the Eagles) that had one of the worst passing defenses in the league last year, near the bottom of the list in ypa allowed, passing TDs allowed, and dead last in QB rating allowed at 100. Week 1 against a Jaguar team expected to be one of the worst in the league this year doesn't convince me that anything has changed.
That's a good point, and I do think that the team overall, even the defense, will be better this year, but scary good? They'll have to prove it to me.This is also the same group that was ranked 11th in the league and like 14th in the league the previous two years with zero offensive support and a defense that was on the field all day. If this team can get some offensive consistency and they can allow their defense to breath a little bit, It think they are going to be a really good unit.

I agree about the protection of Romo. I think, actually, that that's going to be the story for the remainder of the season. Can we protect our QB?They could be scary good Dodger, especially in Arrowhead. That stadium is really hard to play in when it's rocking. If they get a decent Offense that doesn't constantly put them in bad field position and doesn't leave them out on the field forever, they could be scarey good. They have excellent pieces in their front 7. If Nico Johnson, ILB from Alabama can play early, they could be really, really good.
However, I'm with you, I think they will be good, I don't think they will be overpowering. The thing that scares me about this game is that they are capable of getting to Romo and I do not believe the story line about his Ribs. I hope we do not give up free shots on Romo. We really need to do a good job protecting him. JMO

As I mentioned in another thread about this game, what concerns me is that Bowe now has a decent compliment with Avery on the other side. That, and they have a decent QB. They should be able to move the ball, and I don't think they'll make the mistakes that the Giants did. Like you mentioned above, if they can keep their offense on the field, no only will it rest their defense, but it will tire ours, perhaps too much.
Is scary good. Young, athletic, fly to the ball. Not to mention when healthy, Berry is a top 3 S back there. Saving grace is Waters vs his old team instead of Mack. They sacked the crap out of Gabbert and held MJD really in check. This is going to be a serious test. On the flip side, I think we can handle Bowe and J Charles. We will not allow more than 275 total yards on D and recover 1 fumble and get one pick. Super premature prediction:
Us:23
Them:19
They don't have weapons on offense half as good as the Giants do. I have a feeling the defense is going to have a big day for us.
We are basically going into a hornets nest just like last year.
I've noticed that we usually suck in our first day game on the road to start the year too.
I fully expect us to be in a dog fight and come out flat with tons of mistakes in this game.
My simple analysis: if the Cowboys can handle the Giants' front, which they did, then they can handle the Chiefs front. There's some big talk coming out of Kansas City this week, but dominating the Jaguars just isn't reason to get excited. Everybody knows the Jags are playing this year to draft Javdeon Clowney...
