Just when do people no longer qualify as being a "kid"? Seems to me that is your whole problem, you don't wish to hold a grown man to any kind of responsible behavior. if these guys are truly "kids" then their mama needs to spank their rear-ends. These guys we have been talking about, are unequivically "thugs" ,there is absolutely no question about it.

I could argue that Adam Sandler is dumb and immature, that doesnt make him a "thug" does it ? Kid meaning child.

I was under the impression that we were talking about football players, not about an actor who pretends to be dumb.

I daresay that you have no clue whether Adam Sandler is dumb or not, rather you only see the persona he pretends to be onscreen. I know that I have no clue about Sandler, but I'd be betting that he is a relatively intelligent man. Nevertheless, he is not a football player, he is not a kid, and he is not a thug, therefor, he does not belong in this thread about thugs in football where you are the only person trying to claim that Joey Porter acts the way he does because he is a kid, and therefor cannot be a thug. :laugh2: :laugh2:

Depends on the circumstances I guess. But I wouldnt call that being thuggish. Ignorant maybe or even cowardice, but not thuggish.

Personally, I dont know Adam Sandler, but he acts immature and stupid on the screen, does that make his characters "thug" ? Maybe I should have worded it Adam Sandler portrays "thugs" in pretty much every movie. Not that Sandler himself was a "thug".

The word "thug" has been defined to you from several different dictionaries. Porter and the other football players, fit the definition, undeniably.

I think some people, and not just talking about this thread, get way too anal about the term "thug".

Soon as someone uses the term thug someone has to come out questioning why they are saying thug and than go on some campaign to defend the person and assert that he is or is not a thug.

Guys...get some Butt Spackle to calm that irritated red arse and you will feel better.

Thug, Jerk, Punk, Jackarse, Putz and many other names I can not mention here would or could fit with some of these players.

No need to go on some campaign over the world "Thug".

Just because someone does not proudly proclaim their "Thugness" like Pac Man Jone or have it tattooed across their abs like 2 Pac did...Just because a guy is not out shooting at people, stealing stuff, doing illegal things, does not mean they are not a thug or other described terms for their idiotic attitude and behavior.

A lot of people associate "Thug" with ghetto black behavior.....however that is far from the truth....a thug can come from any race or creed or whatever....even women can be thugs...

Someone who is beligerant (spelling), violent, easily incited, goes around looking for trouble, starts altercations, brings friends along for a wolfpack style beatdown, carries weapons (knives or guns), a general disregard for others, often uses physical intimidation as a means of gaining access to things, not much of an intellectual......just an unruly individual....

I don't think that's the case at all. Violent criminals get the 'thug' label despite their race or where they live. Members of the mafia have always been labelled thugs, and they are usually white and live in nice neighborhoods.
