If Baltimore is smart they apply the franchise tag next season and then trade him for the best package of draft picks/players that they can fetch as Jackson is overrated and will not take the Ravens anywhere other than the bank.

Not a twist just facts, it sucked then and now not so much
And if they had signed him a year earlier how much could they have saved? So praising them for being at least a year late is bogus.

Danny White stat, nice.

Lamar Jackson has been in the league for 4 years now and he had 1 legitimate good passing year (2019) which saw him throw for 36 TD's 6 INT's 3,127 Yards with a 66.1% Comp % and QBR of 83.

His other 3 seasons Jackson has thrown for 48 TD's 25 INT's 6,840 Yards with an average Comp % of 62.3% and average QBR of 53.53.

He is coming off the worst season of his career and he has the arrogance to demand a huge new deal?

Thanks but no thanks. Time to get what you can and move on from him.

Jackson is RG3 without the serious leg injuries that hobbled him.
In the pocket he is just above average if that.
Jackson is a much better passer than RG3.....Passing wise RG3 was borderline unaccecptable

Jackson can throw the ball

Lamar is the very definition of system QB.
It's not necessarily a bad thing but he can't just walk into 32 NFL teams as a starter.
They gotta want to run the ball and play defense; restricting passing to TEs and Backs with some play action shots.
46 is crazy money and he should have taken that unless terms were bad and it was largely fake money.

Franchise was basically 30M this year. Will rise a bit for sure so maybe more like 35M.

Lamar is going to take a lot of hits between now and then and should lock in his cash as he isn't Dak, he is essentially a running back and wear and tear robs those guys of explosion fast.

Does anyone know what the "rumored" offer was? I'm not breaking the bank for Jackson myself but it'd be interesting to see what he turned down.

Huge mistake......from what I've read/heard, their offer is the same as Watson's deal money-wise. The word is, that Jackson wants a total guarantee contract also.

this is a Cowboys forum? Why is this allowed to be posted here?

You can say what you want about what he has done since, but that year he definitely deserved MVP
He was phenomenal in 2019 for sure.
He'd create first downs and yardage on his own then throw TD passes once in the red zone.
But last year was arguably his worst as a pro. 16 TD passes 13 INT does not cut it in this era of football.
