This would mean Jerry is ok with tanking..............considering the most important thing to Jerry is keeping the Cowboys relevant and "hanging around the rim", wouldnt tanking and becoming a 4 or 5 win laughing stock team go against this?

How exactly do you hype up a 4 win team with no Dak and no Lamb without getting totally laughed at.
He'd still be in the news.

And?????

Most guys across the league, especially stars, tend to have their contracts negotiated at this point in their rookie deals. For one, teams like to get it done sooner rather than later for cap purposes, etc.

There's no logical defense here of Jerry. I mean even if you think he's simply quietly going on a rebuild, this is a dumb way of doing it.
Where in the NFLPA agreement does it state a contract has to be renegotiated while a player is still under contract???
Why would any team renegotiate a new deal for a player while under contract when said player is seen pouting and disengaged on the sidelines in his last playoff game agaiinst Geen bay? Maybe the player should man up, for a change!

he's going to get a new deal anyway in the end.....

It says it nowhere but precedent is out there. If you can’t see that, that’s on you. And there are valid reasons why teams do it at this point in a rookie contract.

The whole pouting thing in the GB game is so overblown and stupid. But fans gotta be mad about something, I guess.

And Lamb isn’t being greedy. He’s negotiating for his Market Value like the other top receivers . This is typical NFL business.
It is typical NFL business. Unfortunately we don't have typical GM-business. You'd think by now the Jones would have learned that the waiting game doesn't work. A real GM would have foreseen the WR free agent carousel following last season and tried to get ahead of it. They could have offered CD somewhere around $30 million early last season and he may have accepted it. They will do the same with Parsons. I can see both Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt wanting new contracts and the Jones boys will sit back and see both of them set the market and then be surprised that Parson wants $5 million more.

There is NO obligation for a team to renegotiate a new deal while a player is still under contract, period, end of story....paying Zeke an extension was a mistake

And no it was not overblown or stupid, Ceedee's behavior during the first half of that game was a disgrace...When you need the QB, position coach and the headcoach trying to get him engaged in the game while not running routes or pouting doesn't warrant any contract extention until he grows up and act like a professional

I’m beginning to think if Lamb ends up playing on current contract he’s gone next year in FA and we get nothing .

And if he sits out entire year we get nothing when he goes in FA.

Jethro’s only option is to Cave . Tick tock…
If Lamb sits out the entire year we will have his rights next year
He will show up around October when he had to to be available for the minimum number of games
