Nope.

NFL.
He started 4 games and had 5 TDs. You call that a lot? That comes down to about 20 TDs in a season. Plus he was completing less than 55% of his passes and his passer rating was only 84.5.

If Lance sucked as bad in college as some are saying, how did he ever make it to the NFL?

I get it - you're just trying to bad mouth him in order to feel better about Dak.

Atlanta saw "no hope" in Favre? Why else trade a future hall of famer?

They didn't know how the story would actually turn out. Much like this cowboysfaninhouston fella.

I have a feeling this is more about Dak than Lance, judging from his M.O.
Favre went to a team looking for a quarterback. Lance is on a team that has one in the prime of his career. If Trey Lance is a Hall of Fame talent how will he ever get the chance to prove it? If Prescott is signed to an extension it won’t be because the Cowboys don’t expect him to be the starting quarterback for the next several years.

This is knee jerk. The jury is still way out on Lance. Did you really expect him to come in mid season and take the world by storm?

Certainly no guarantees, but at a minimum there is plenty of reason to think he could become a high quality #2, and the traits that had scouts thinking he could be a quality #1 haven't vanished. Time will tell, but an injury prone rookie season and sitting behind an established starter his second year isn't giving him that time. Success doesn't come from quitting when things don't go ideally from the beginning

The way for Lance to beat out Rush is to sign an extension for reasonable money. That way we gain the benefit of his development.

Rush is a good deal for us as a backup, and he's not a geezer for a QB. Should last a number of years more as a backup. That's something we shouldn't be eager to throw away without a replacement under contract.

Currently 9th in the league in rushing yards and that is with terrible blocking most of the season.
Aggregate yards just mean that they kept feeding you. You don't have to be good to get a lot of yards.

Pollards production per touch carry and target: 4.1 ypc, 4.8ypt.

That's not anywhere in the ballpark of elite.

Having said that, Pollard has looked more like his old self in recent games, and I really don't think we use him right. IMO, he's closer to elite now than his numbers show.

Whatever you said doesn't even matter in the scheme of things.

Well wait a sec...it does matter that Lance does get reps.

How many games did it take for favre to get bearings? 1 years? Two?

Favre only spent one season in Atlanta and was traded because Jerry Glanville needed to win now. Glanville recounted the situation in an interview. He said Favre had a lot of potential but Glanville was on the hot seat and Favre wasn’t ready to start. Atlanta received a first round pick for Favre, so it’s not like they were desperate to get what they could and dump him. The 49ers were looking to cut their losses and dump Lance. The best they could get was a 4th round pick. The Cowboys were looking to cover themselves in case Dak continued to regress and they didn’t want to extend him.
Blah blah blah blah blah.

Oh waIT but!~...but..aND but!

Throw him out there too early? This his 3rd season. He won’t be playing anyway this season, he’s not the backup. The only way he’ll have any chance of developing is by playing. The longer he’s on the sidelines, the less likely he’ll become a solid NFL QB. If he doesn’t get on the field until 2025 he’ll be stale. The Cowboys may look to trade him by then, because he’s not going to be happy as a backup. He wants another opportunity to be a starter and that won’t likely happen with the Cowboys.

insert him into the 2016 Dak Prescott offense it was built on simplicity and effectiveness for mobile QBs. It limited reads, improved vision and separation. Then develop him slowly and keep expanding. I think the guy would be deadly.
I'm open to trying almost anything except Prescott. We already know how that story ends.

Welp...once again you are wrong. How can you be wrong so often?

I don't have Madden, never did.

You have already sealed Lance's fate. Some people FORCED you to say "up to now"...but you are still sticking with the "I am more right than anyone else".

When it has not been determined. There are a few crumbs of events, sure. But he wouldn't be the first one to revive a slow-starting career. You ignore THAT evidence.
who has sealed his fate? don't be such a drama queen. I just said to this date, he hasn't shown anything. I also said his fate is not said, but based on current evidence it doesn't look good.
tell me where I am wrong?

how can a fan on an internet forum seal anybody's fate? like I said, you seek too much drama in everything.

he is not the first, but usually high draft picks, who try to revive their career fail. you are banking on exception, rather than what has been historically.
there are many many more who fail and never revive than those who did. that's also undisputed. and you ignore THAT evidence.

so what's up with this man love over trey lance?

The goal, as far as I was concerned, was to bring in someone to challenge and ultimately replace Rush.

I never had any illusions about Lance ever being our starting QB except in the event of an injury to Dak.
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: The Cowboys spent a 4th round pick to challenge the backup QB? I've read some wild things on this board, this one is right up there near the top.

What happened the "Cooper Rush Campaign"? Cooper Rush gets no love since Lance reported. There was a crusade to have him as the starter that has completely disappeared on this board. Reality?

Trey lance needs a shot now. Put him ahead of Rush and let him play a bit. Need to see what he can do now not the preaseason.
