What a ridiculous comment. KC was coming off a 12-4 season and traded up for Mahomes. They handed him a good team, not a train wreck, which is what you would like to see every year. There’s teams that stink every year and keep missing on QBs in the draft.
So Rookie Dak didn't have a good team handed to him?

You do realize romo was hurt the previous year right? The team was taylor made for a new QB to step in.
I do realize Romo was hurt the previous year and we used three different QBs, Brandon Weeden who was a first round pick, Matt Cassel who won 11 games in NE in 2008 and Kellen Moore. We ended up winning only ONE game with all three of those QBs. So much for the team being taylor made for a new QB to step in. LOL

Sorry, but you just got broadsided claiming the team was taylor made for a new QB to step in. You were proven dead wrong! Weeden and Cassel had a lot starting experience and won games in the league. Moore had a 400 yard game with three TDs in one of his starts but we still lost because the team was hot garbage. The way some of you keep trashing Dak you’re making it sound like he’s hot garbage. Replace him with the same caliber of QBs we were using to replace Romo in 2015 and we may end up with only 4 wins.

Lmao, If you believe WEEDEN, CASSEL ALONG WITH MOORE was Romo's replacement then you clearly need your eyes checked. Dallas drafted dak in the 4th to be Romo's replacement. So just shut it with your broadsided claim.

Taylor made as you can see a rookie 4th round pick QB step in and win.

Dude, they were his replacements in 2015. No one ever said any of them would be the longterm replacement…DUH! We were so desperate to win a game we traded for Cassel during the season. We ended up having to play musical chairs with three different QBs to try and win a game but according you the team was talylor made for a new QB to step in.

That 2015 team went 1-11 with three different QBs after Romo went down but you’re claiming that team was taylor made for a new QB to step in. I’m having a real field day with that comment. Lol The team certainly wasn’t taylor made for a rookie 4th round pick to step in the following season and lead us to a 13-3 record.

No one is saying taylor made for those 2015 backup scrubs. New qb, get with it KJJ. Keep tooting your horn for dak.

All three of were new QBs. They arrived in 2015. lol If you’re trying to spin the team was taylor made for a rookie to step in and have success, that’s even more ridiculous than your original statement. lol Keep pretending Dak is trash.

No he didn’t. The Cowboys were coming off a 4-12 season.
A 4-12 season due to some of the pro-bowl members of the offensive line being injured or not playing together resulting in Romo being injured (I think twice and lost for the season) and the loss of Demarco Murray which resulted in Zeke being drafted the following year with the 4th pick in the draft. There were three all-pros on that line (Smith, Martin, Frederick) and two really good ones in Leary and Free, a prime Dez, Witten, Beasley, Williams, etc., and they added the best runner in the draft. This was a 12-4 team the year before, one bogus non-Dez catch away from the NFC championship game almost won on the road with Romo leading them.

We went 4-12 mostly because of the loss of Romo. We were 3-1 with him. The Cowboys have been a QB dependent team for the past 2 decades due to the issues we’ve had everywhere else. Without a competent QB in 2016 our season likely wouldn’t have been any better than the previous season.

Where’s a rule that says that? A lot of QBs have lost their job because they got hurt and their replacement played better. It happens with other positions. Bledsoe lost his job to Brady because of injury due to great play by Brady.
Does it need to better or just equal, close enough and or cheaper.

1) Starting QBs aren’t supposed to lose their job due to injury. They are supposed to be replaced by better play.
2) Romo suffered a freak injury, was medically cleared to play by the doctors, and was in his best health in the past five years. If he suffered another freak injury or played poorly, the team could always go back to Dak.
3) Romo was clearly the better QB in practice as Barry Church and others testified to.
4) Dak did not win a QB competition in camp nor in practice. It was not allowed by dumb and dumber due to 4.
5) No rookie QB had ever taken a team to the SB.
6) You don’t make football decisions based on chemistry, a hot hand (which are for sports like basketball in the game, not football between games), or the superstition of messing up a win streak, which ultimately always come to an end.
7) Dak fell into a talented team situation where it was never clear that the victories were due to his play at a superior QB level (and that Romo couldn’t do the same) as opposed to just driving the bus. In games against the Minnesota Vikings and the second Giants game, he was mediocre, if that.

Those are just some of the things I came up with off the top of my head. I’m sure others could come up with more.
They are when they miss practically 2 full years to injury. It was time to move on. Romo wasn't going to take us anywhere either. And now its time to move on from Dak. On to the next guy.

Generalities like “it was time to move on” doesn’t counter anything that was said. The correct course of action is to take the information at hand and make a rational assessment based on criteria such as the factors listed and then make a decision. Romo was injured in two different ways in those two years, meaning the same body parts weren’t repetitively injured, and the one that kept him out of the 2016 season was so freakish, medical professionals have said that anyone similar in size and stature would’ve suffered the same injury due to the way his body was positioned and the LB landed on him with his force.
