I know but even they just speculated about it and said who knows if it'll ever see the light of day. Then all of a sudden here comes a gossip blog with all the info

Yeah, if it does involve a child. It's best to report it.

That media outlet will get brought up on so many charges, it wouldn't be funny. I doubt it's a minor type situation.

If it is indeed a Walmart surveillance tape, and it involves sexual assault of a minor, Walmart would be on the hook also for not immediately reporting it to police.

Actually they won't be. They are reporting a story and possibly a crime. They aren't distributing it for a $19.99 a month fee (which could then be considered distribution of child pornography).

They can't post a video of Dez and a female, and say he is having sex with a minor. Feds will be like "*****, you knew it was a minor? You still posted it?"

They would have to post the video, act oblivious to it, and have another party come in and say "Hey, i know that girl! She's such and such, and she's only 15!"

Even then, it would raise eyebrows.

Not saying they have all the answers on it but I don't think they would even comment on it unless they knew something.. They just don't know enough to go all out and try to claim the story for themselves.. This is not something that the "Major" people can afford to get wrong. If LaConfora comes out and says "Yes, there is a video of Dez Bryant doing XYZ" And the video either doesn't exist or doesn't end up coming out he could end up blackballed forever from the NFL.

2. Time passes, no evidence produced, Florio confirms that there is a rumor publicly, but does not confirm or even know if rumor is true.

3. Gossip site needs hits, rides recent hot story, claims to know that video is being released.

Schefter said he was working on this since sept and still didn't have all the facts. It's just odd that one of the best in the biz felt he didn't have enough info and then here comes terez Owens. I dunno I'm just speculating that maybe ther was something inconclusive about it that made the major guys not wanna roll with it.

Actually they will. Child porn is not protected under the 1st amendment. Possession of it in any form is illegal. Period.

Think about it, if he comes out and tries to defend it, and nothing comes out. The story will be "What if there is something to the rumor?" ...."Why did Dez get all defensive?"

People were already thinking fishy stuff from his tweet a few days ago.

Yes, they actually can. Reporters film and witness murders, rapes, a ton of atrocities. They aren't charged criminally for filming it or reporting about it which is exactly what this would be. They don't have to "air" the full content of the video but the content can actually be verified without doing so.

Who is to say that they don't have their hand on the phone to the local police station within seconds of actually releasing the video and saying "here's your evidence for a criminal case". To date, a crime hasn't been reported so they can't be charged with obstruction of justice.
