The one thing that makes this seem real and I keep going back to this is the fact that Dez has been so silent about the issue and that legitimate guys like Schefter and Florio have been onto this for months now. We can lie to ourselves and say Dez's team has advised him not to say anything but at the end of the day Dez's track record shows he isn't going to let false accusations be made about him without publicly refuting them.

It's pretty much accepted now that there is a video. However, showing that video implicates a lot of people because of that time frame. The rumor is a girl was beaten badly in a parking lot, possibly at gunpoint.

But that would involve Walmart not having control of their video surveillance, theft of the video of itself, failure to report a crime for four years, extortion to sell the video, and media paying a now criminal for a video that legally belongs to Walmart.

That's complicated on all sides, and the police will get involved with each entity in that equation.

I'm getting less and less concerned because the more that comes out, the more it sounds like total BS.

Supposedly Adam Schefter says he's been working on this story since September. That concerns me.

Of course I could play the media hates us, Schefter's a hack card but I'm a little too mature for that.

There's way too much smoke here for it to be absolutely nothing. But we don't know how serious, or not serious, it is. Dez has gone mute the past week.

The Cowboys are hesitant to do a long-term deal without a LOT of behavior clauses attached. I'm pretty certain of that.

Which is why he'll be a year-to-year franchise tag this year and next most likely.

Not sure how to post tweets here but BSO which is blacksportsonline that tends to be somewhat accurate had a story where he said he talked to someone who has seen the video. I tweeted at him for details and he said he heard it was an ike turner style beatdown of a woman.

I've seen multiple "sources" say Adam Schefter has been looking into this since September? The weird part? Every web link I've seen discussing this is an iteration of "suntimes.com." I've seen national.suntimes.com... orlando.suntimes.com... cleveland.suntimes.com.

Today has nothing to do with it. There's nothing mandatory about today. This will linger on and on until there's confirmation that there is, or isn't, a video.

My guess is, negotiations are in place with somebody to buy this video. Either Dez, TMZ, etc. The Fan even suggested that the Cowboys might buy it for Dez if they think he's changed his life (and will sign for less).

But I also think the media is trying to check its legal standing to show such a video given how it must have been acquired.
