You don't seem to understand what is needed for a libel lawsuit, especially one against a public figure.

If Schefter or Florio say "we have seen the video and we've seen Bryant beat up and rape 12 puppies at gunpoint", then Bryant has a legit lawsuit.

If Schefter or Florio say "there's this rumor out here, we're looking into it, a video exists but we have no idea what is on it or if it will ever be released" then there is absolutely no grounds for suit in that statement whatsoever.

If there truly is nothing to this, that means some serious NFL reporters have been duped, and they'll turn their entire angst toward these sources and rumor mongers and tear them to shreds.

I have been working on a bid for DHS for year, it was due Jan 2014, it got pushed to may then sept then may of 2015 I have total of maybe 3 months work collectively in it but I guess I can say I have been working on it for 16 months. I mean I have had correspondence with individuals at DHS this whole time so I will use it :thumbup:

I wasn't referring to proving libel. I was talking about the damage to their reputation that could be done by simply filing an pursuing a libel case. This would be high profile either way.

Don't you love that? I do a lot of military work, I can't remember one job in twenty years I didn't re-bid at least five times. Then we are all told we start a year behind schedule when the project does start.

Being in journalism and what now has become speculative journalism bad sources and info goes with the territory, look at the UVA rape case, the Duke Lacrosse case.
