We're not 1200 posts into talking about Adam Schefter's report from this morning.

As an aside, just to respond to a couple of posts you've made basically whizzing on fans for doing everything possible to support/defend Dez. Did you forget you're on a Cowboys site and he's basically the face of the franchise? Duh!!!!! Let people be and go back to hanging out in the Draft Zone. lol

Yeah, this is a Cowboys fan site. I'm a Cowboys fan voicing my opinion on this subject. Where's the problem?

I do find it strange that a man that once gave Miles Austin $54 million based on about 11 games of production, is having a hard time parting ways with $$$$ to a guy that has a chance to be the most prolific wr in club history.

I think there's more to this than just Jerry/Stephen worrying about the cap. Something ain't right, Jerry usually goes in way over his head on these core guys.

They are negotiating. You really find it strange? Did you see the deal Tyron signed? Did you see the low ball offer to Murray? Dallas is trying to be smarter with the cap.

Right. You're inventing a scenario in your head to protect the player. Instead of just seeing it for what it is. He's still working on it because he feels there's validity to it.

Yup- that's his job.
And he should. I honestly think Schefter is going about this the right way.
He's not saying Dez DID do anything, but that he has been investigating something that could show Dez doing something bad.

He's said he doesn't have all the facts or any video so he can't run with it like any journalist with a shred of integrity.
I'm sure he's not going to go pounding the streets on a daily basis and devote all his time and resources to it until something more breaks, but you can be sure he's going to keep paying very close attention to the situation until it reaches it's conclusion.

I just find it hard to believe that Adam Schefter could be working on this story for half a year if it's BS. I think he would have found that out long before now.

Im not saying there's nothing to this anywhere. Schefter has been very responsible. He answered a direct question about it but didnt say "he heard it was pedophilia in the Tire Aisle, gun rape in the buggy return, etc". He said its complicated, may never come out, and hasnt seen it.

The question I am waiting to have answered has Dallas and does Dallas still have an offer to Dez for a long term deal? Is Dez's team the one who turned down an offer? I find it impossible that Dallas didnt know about this and potential contents in September. Theres no way they dont know now. No way they are dropping $13M - $30M if there is any chance of a ban. If they tag him Monday, that says alot. If he goes to FA, then he is toast.

I get smoke/fire thing, but if someone publicized I was losing my career and all that is purportedly known is a video or screenshot of me and Wal Mart Parking lot. What do I do. Sadly I have been in a WalMArt parking lot

Everyone needs to listen to the whole Schefter interview. He says he knows about the video...but then goes right back to talking about how the cowboys will franchise dez, no way dez is leaving dallas. So whatever it is schefter doesnt think it's a career ender...

There very well could be something to it, but if Schefter has worked on it for 6 months and still can't piece together whatever it is it's probably not something people should be this stressed about. I'm as big a skeptic as anyone, but if these people actually had something someone would've leaked it by now. Supposedly screenshots of the video have been sent to major outlets and there isn't a leak yet? No way.

That's my hope.

The saddest part of all this is that it's from 2011. I really don't care to see what he did in 2011. Since the incident with his mother he has been a model citizen.. Had turkey drives in oak cliff...Spoke at domestic violence rallies..etc etc

So because allegedly it was 4 years ago it's a-ok? What if it is something like the Rice vid? that still ok because he had turkey drives since then?
Personally while I hate him because he's a cowboy, I hope the whole story is false. However you shouldn't just write off some criminal action just because it was 2011.

No it's not a-ok but punishing someone for something that happened 4 years ago in my opinion is wrong. Especially when brought to the table not by law enforcement or the alleged victim but by some ex-friends who are trying to extort him because they are no longer eating off of his paycheck.

If that is all Adam Schefter said than he is spreading rumors and lies. Adam Schefter needs to come with some substance or shut up. He has not helped his career by spreading rumors. Right now he is more TMZ than NFL reporter. If false the NFL needs to pull his credentials.
