Ummm we just let go of a guy whom is 3 years younger than Peterson and making less or about the same. And we would not have had to give up any draft picks in the process. Makes no sense at all, unless he would agree to a huge pay cut, which I do not see happening.

There is no way the Cowboys would give up that much to get Peterson. Should the Vikings and Cowboys eventually make a deal, I would be more concerned about the details of a new contract.

You can put all these AP rumors to rest he's not coming to Dallas. The Cowboys just invested some money in McFadden and will draft a back next month.

If a 3rd, make it next years 3rd, possibly conditional to a 2nd.
Or this years 5th and possibly a 7th, next years 4th conditional to a 3rd. Or 5the conditional to a 4th. Would need to lok at the draft chart to see the values though.

Something similar to those anyway. But would rather wait until the draft to pull the trigger, if we can't get Gordon or Gurley, then do the trade.

Plus Gurley has health issues to resolve and is an unknown for NFL production. He could be another Peterson or another Trent RIchardson.

What may come into play too, is McFadden signed, and Gurley drafted. play McFadden until Gurely gets 100% healthy and is ready to take over.

I would give the Viking absolutely ziltch for Peterson. I wouldn't sign in as a FA either unless it was $5M/year with a max of three years and only two years (or $10M) guaranteed.

Otherwise, let the Vikings pay that idiot salary they gave him.

Peterson is due 13 million. Even if he restructures for an 8.6 million average to match Murray. You really want to do that and give up picks? The Cowboys won't do that. If he's a free agent then I could see them do it.

The Vikings are morons. I figured from their comments a month or two ago that they thought he had trade value.

I just don't see him having trade value with any teams. He does not want to take a pay cut (restructure is not a pay cut). Why would any team give up picks for the right to pay him 12.75M ?

The best RB in the draft will likely be available late in the 1st.

I think it buyers market on AP, he has an image to repair. If Vikes release him fine. I would not give up an asset for him other than cap space.
