 Really? You're keeping Witten and Romo out of the ROH because our owner was an idiot for 20 straight years. Romo > Aikman. Troy just happened to get lucky playing on a vastly better team in a different era of the NFL
These are the kind of JAGS who think if your third string rookie safety didn't make the Pro Bowl then its time to ship him off....or if they wait till their senior year to turn pro they are too freaking old....

There is no way that a player with the team records that Romo already has is not a lock for the Ring of Honor.

Let's be honest, it's not the records that will get Romo in the RoH. Romo is Jerry's adapted son and Jerry is definitely into nepotism.

Yes, because it would be totally weird for a team to retire the jersey of a player who played 14 years for them and owns every major passing record. It has to be nepotism.
Romo's records don't matter without having even played in a single NFCCG. Post-season success is the mark of true greatness. But relax, Tony Romo Jones will be in the RoH.

Lol at you thinking Troy "got lucky"
I take Troy over Romo in a heart beat

Truly great players play their best when the chips are down
Romo never even took the team to a NFCCG let alone the SB

That is how QBs greatness is and should be judged

Romo is good not great

The Cowboys defense ranked 5th, 2nd and 3rd in Troy's Super Bowl seasons. Aiman enjoyed a hall-of-fame runner, hall-of-fame receiver and an elite offensive line.

But I guess if Romo was great he would have figured out how to play every position.

As for the chips being down....did you not read the numbers...Best all-time passer in the 4th quarter.

More like "relax, my dopey made-up standards have no affect on what happens in reality".
Romo got Wally Pipp'ed. If Romo were truly RoH worthy, that would not have happened. Papa Jerry Jones will make sure his adopted son, Tony gets in the RoH so just be happy with that.

Each made-up, dopey standard is sillier than the last...

Only on this Cowboy board could Troy Aikman be relegated to one of many QBS who could have won SBS with that 90s team. I watched every cowboy game since 1970, and Troy has never gotten his credit due. He was a heck of a great QB. Romo is a good QB, in a pass happy era, never got to see him in a pressure championship situation, so it's not a given he could have did what Troy did in the 90s.

Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, sat down with Fox 4's Mike Doocy to discuss Tony Romo's impending departure from Dallas. Here are some highlights:

On what Tony Romo's legacy deserves to be

Laufenberg: Like anything, I think you have to put a little time between the departure and when we start truly writing his legacy. It's why they wait five years for Hall of Fame guys. You put a little time between their careers and when we're going to vote for them. But in my mind, Tony was a great quarterback. Not a good quarterback. Not a very good quarterback. He was a great quarterback.

He did not have great people around him for the majority of his career. They were good in spots, and you can criticize his playoff performances or what have you, but I never looked at one and thought, 'wow, Tony Romo cost them that game.' I know the bobble in Seattle, but that was his first year on wasn't even a quarterbacking situation. He shouldn't have even been holding at that point.

I just think he was a very underappreciated player.

On the national perception of Tony Romo

Laufenberg: The national take on Tony Romo was 'this guy folds in the fourth quarter.' I'll never forget having a conversation with Al Michaels before a Cowboys game. I said to Al, 'he's the highest rated quarterback in the fourth quarter.' Al said, 'Oh c'mon Babe, get out of here.' And I said, 'No, he's the highest rated quarterback in the fourth quarter in NFL history.' To Al's credit, he gave me credit on his show...Anyway, I just think he was a very underappreciated as a player. He was a great quarterback.

It will NEVER EVER END. I find it mind boggling that we have to defend Romo's legacy here. Its crazy to me. Romo is a very very good QB who made this team so much better than they ever were. The flack that he took in the media was a joke. People are lazy, they only hear what they hear and they run with it.. For Al Michaels who's job is to know if Tony has one of the highest QB rating in the 4th quarter does not know that just proves the point I been making for years. It"s the lazy, easy way out. Everyone says it so it must be true and let me say what everyone else says. Watch this man play, and know how bad those teams really were. Of course the idiot clueless media would predict them to win every year, it was a joke. The team was built so wrong for so many years while Romo was in his prime. Jerry did him no favors through most of Romos career, but Romo was good enough to make the Cowboys relevant...They were picked to finish better than they ever were and that was because of Romo. So when the team either failed to make the playoffs or did not go far in the playoffs they blamed Romo because that was the easy thing to do and it made a great story. Romo was a hot topic everywhere, ESPN as they shameless do all the time just talked about him to death.. He was the hot topic, an easy target, but never once cared about the real truth... Tony Romo made the Dallas Cowboys relevant, without Romo they would have been the Cleveland Browns, or if not that bad a team NO ONE would talk about... 2 seasons ago that was proven. He wins the first 2 games against the Giants ( which was won with last minute drive ) and half the Eagle game they won.... They won ONE other game without him that year... IF that does not prove anything than the haters will never ever get it.. This is NOT a Dak thing at all. I love Dak and we are so lucky to have got lucky and drafted him, but it's is the complete lack of respect Tony Romo gets around here and the league and it pisses me off... The man has given his heart and soul to this team and has always made them better than they ever were. When Tony got hurt this year he knew he lost his shot to take control over the best team he has ever had here I Dallas .

As much as I like Tony, Troy has always been the prototypical QB to me. Best mechanics, footwork, calmness, the total package.
