Marino was one of the best ever. Was Marino a good or great QB.

That is just total bs. Romo is a great qb and so was Marino. They are both better than Eli Manning.Statistics are not equal to greatness. The end results equal real greatness. Winning is what really counts and winning SB's is what really matters to QB legacies.
These are the kind of JAGS who think if your third string rookie safety didn't make the Pro Bowl then its time to ship him off....or if they wait till their senior year to turn pro they are too freaking old....Really? You're keeping Witten and Romo out of the ROH because our owner was an idiot for 20 straight years. Romo > Aikman. Troy just happened to get lucky playing on a vastly better team in a different era of the NFL
Romo is a good QB
No player should get in the ROH of the Cowboys without having won a SB
We're not the Eagles or the bengals Etc
Marino won a AFCCG and at least played in a SB. I'm tired of that comparison when someone is trying to defend Romo. Romo couldn't carry Marino's jock strap. Was Marino a good or great QB.
Let's be honest, it's not the records that will get Romo in the RoH. Romo is Jerry's adapted son and Jerry is definitely into nepotism. There is no way that a player with the team records that Romo already has is not a lock for the Ring of Honor.
Yes, because it would be totally weird for a team to retire the jersey of a player who played 14 years for them and owns every major passing record. It has to be nepotism.Let's be honest, it's not the records that will get Romo in the RoH. Romo is Jerry's adapted son and Jerry is definitely into nepotism.
Romo's records don't matter without having even played in a single NFCCG. Post-season success is the mark of true greatness. But relax, Tony Romo Jones will be in the RoH.Yes, because it would be totally weird for a team to retire the jersey of a player who played 14 years for them and owns every major passing record. More like "relax, my dopey made-up standards have no affect on what happens in reality".Romo's records don't matter without having even played in a single NFCCG. Post-season success is the mark of true greatness. But relax, Tony Romo Jones will be in the RoH.
Lol at you thinking Troy "got lucky"
I take Troy over Romo in a heart beat
Truly great players play their best when the chips are down
Romo never even took the team to a NFCCG let alone the SB
That is how QBs greatness is and should be judged
Romo is good not great
Romo got Wally Pipp'ed. If Romo were truly RoH worthy, that would not have happened. Papa Jerry Jones will make sure his adopted son, Tony gets in the RoH so just be happy with that.More like "relax, my dopey made-up standards have no affect on what happens in reality".
Each made-up, dopey standard is sillier than the last...Romo got Wally Pipp'ed. If Romo were truly RoH worthy, that would not have happened. Papa Jerry Jones will make sure his adopted son, Tony gets in the RoH so just be happy with that.

Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, sat down with Fox 4's Mike Doocy to discuss Tony Romo's impending departure from Dallas. Here are some highlights:
On what Tony Romo's legacy deserves to be
Laufenberg: Like anything, I think you have to put a little time between the departure and when we start truly writing his legacy. It's why they wait five years for Hall of Fame guys. You put a little time between their careers and when we're going to vote for them. But in my mind, Tony was a great quarterback. Not a good quarterback. Not a very good quarterback. He was a great quarterback.
He did not have great people around him for the majority of his career. They were good in spots, and you can criticize his playoff performances or what have you, but I never looked at one and thought, 'wow, Tony Romo cost them that game.' I know the bobble in Seattle, but that was his first year on wasn't even a quarterbacking situation. He shouldn't have even been holding at that point.
I just think he was a very underappreciated player.
On the national perception of Tony Romo
Laufenberg: The national take on Tony Romo was 'this guy folds in the fourth quarter.' I'll never forget having a conversation with Al Michaels before a Cowboys game. I said to Al, 'he's the highest rated quarterback in the fourth quarter.' Al said, 'Oh c'mon Babe, get out of here.' And I said, 'No, he's the highest rated quarterback in the fourth quarter in NFL history.' To Al's credit, he gave me credit on his show...Anyway, I just think he was a very underappreciated as a player. He was a great quarterback.

No more dopey or made-up than equating stats to greatness while ignoring his colossal short comings. Each made-up, dopey standard is sillier than the last...
As much as I like Tony, Troy has always been the prototypical QB to me. Best mechanics, footwork, calmness, the total package.Only on this Cowboy board could Troy Aikman be relegated to one of many QBS who could have won SBS with that 90s team. I watched every cowboy game since 1970, and Troy has never gotten his credit due. He was a heck of a great QB. Romo is a good QB, in a pass happy era, never got to see him in a pressure championship situation, so it's not a given he could have did what Troy did in the 90s.
Oh bull ****.Marino won a AFCCG and at least played in a SB. I'm tired of that comparison when someone is trying to defend Romo. Romo couldn't carry Marino's jock strap.
That's not a rebuttal. There was nothing fallacious about my statement.Oh bull ****.
