Jason Garrett took over as the Cowboy head Coach on January of 2011. Since then, there have been 297 arrests of NFL players for a variety of reasons and severity, from racing, drunk driving and criminal mischief to domestic assault, sexual assault, and assaulting a police officer.

As you can see, the Cowboys are in the bottom half with 8. Four of those are DWI of some form. The Vikings top the list with the Broncos and 49ers coming in 2nd.
When you only include violent or some kind of illegal gun possession charge then the latest arrest of Wilson is only the 2nd time since Garrett took over that a Cowboy has been accused of a violent crime. The first one was Josh Brent's charge of manslaughter.

What interests me the most are the charges that I don't ever recall hearing about. Either that or they were barely mentioned and quickly forgotten. Call me paranoid, but I'll bet if the following players had been Cowboys we would have seen a media uproar:
Albert Haynesworth - Charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse for allegedly fondling the breast of a worker in a Washington restaurant.
Julian Edelman - Accused of touching a woman inappropriately at a nightclub on Halloween night.
Jarriel King - Charged with having forcible sex with woman in South Carolina who said she was intoxicated.
Derrick Shelby- Police report in Fort Lauderdale says he was touching females at club without permission and refused to leave when asked.
Josh McNary - Accused of rape, battery and criminal confinement of woman who said he attacked her Dec. 1 after night of drinking.
Ahmad Brooks - Accused of misdemeanor sexual battery stemming from a December 2014 incident at the home of teammate Ray McDonald.

I hope this lends a better perspective on the number of incidents including Cowboys versus the rest of the NFL. Why is it that the Cowboy incidents seem to be more amplified? I don't have the answer to that, just as I don't have an answer to why everyone remembers Michael Irvin's antics but barely anyone remembers Jerry Rice being arrested in a prostitution sting.
