Interesting that many think that Henson can be developed into a creditable qb with 8-9 starts five or six years ago, but Young can't be developed after having the best won-lost record of any UT qb in years.

Yep

the only thing that makes me put Henson in the conversation is the fact that certain people say his mechanics are horrible.

That is all this board talked about for a week straight was Henson's throwing motion being adjusted when word came out during the offseason.

Dont see why Young cant benefit from the same teachings.

All I have ever said is the guy has not shown any reason why he should not be given a chance to play QB.

Theyre going to get bush when
1) Theyre not gonna be even close enoguh to draft him( top2-3 picks)
2) they chose a RB with the 2nd rd choice last year
please.... :bang2:

They just lost their biggest scoring threat in Rackers. They play their competition for the worse record in the NFL. They play at San Fran and at Houston. Those are losable games. They get Washington and Philly at home and end up at Indy. A recipe for a very bad record.

I forgot about J.J. Arrington. I don't know how I could because his 63 carries for 224 yards and 2 TDs really sticks out.

ya and im sure you watch the games? all of the guys on the az board like arrington and blame it on the horrible Oline which cannot be denied. but i am sure you know more about the Cardinals then their own fans.

Whenever I've watched this kid this year, I couldn't help wondering what he'd look like with a Bush AND a Jarrett. Sidearm delivery didn't prevent Rivers from being drafted high, but I think what needs the most work with Young is not his sling, but his footwork.

He certainly is an intriguing project as a pro QB, and tho I don't see the Elway comparisons just yet, I have the feeling if he wows folks at the combine, he is going pretty high on draft day.

I agree with Josee. I think that if Denny Green gets a chance to draft Bush, which he might, he would snatch him up and never look back.

It is Friday with a weekend of good football upcoming. Yet you seem to be getting irritated. Just discussing football. I presented a couple of opinions, but you comeback as if annoyed. Hope things start looking up for you.

Anyway, I didn't say I know more than the Arizona fans. Are there really Arizona fans out there? I just see Bush as being greater than Arrington. Running back is the easiest skill position to come in and perfrom at a high level. Arrington hasn't done that. Part of it is some nagging injuries. He may still be a good one, but it wouldn't hurt a team to have two good running backs.

that leaves them with 3 highly drafted WR's, two highly drafted RB's, nobody to quarterback the team, and nobody to block. I dont think Green is as bad as Matt Millen.

sorry did not mean to come off that way, just that I have seen a ton of mock drafts over on another board and all the cards fans like JJ and think he is a good starter. Bush may be too good to pass on but then who will QB and who will block. the cards just have way too many holes to draft another RB.

Hopefull Green has learned a few things since Minnesota. He ignored the defense on draft day. Millen certainly is pulling for worse GM, but Green doesn't have a great track record. Better coach than GM.

They do have some holes. Their O-line is patch work. Maybe it will come together. Maybe they could trade Bryant for another draft pick and get a O-lineman. This should be a deep draft for offensive linemen. Second round should provide a good one. I hope Dallas uses the 2nd to find one.

I know this will ruin my credibility, but I actually like what I have seen in Josh McKown. Looks like a leader to me.

he's shown some stuff, but for whatever reason even after a good game, Green takes any possible chance to bench him, plus he is FA this year so I really don't see him doing anything there. I somewhat agree though he's done some good things, why he didnt start the full year is unexcusable but they are the cardinals.

I think you are dead on LaTuna. Young's biggest problem is his footwork, and I think with good coaching he can overcome that issue.

During the Colorado game this year, they showed video of him warming up before the game. I was astounded to see him standing with his feet spread shoulder width apart, flinging the ball to the receiver about 20 yards away.

I think Dan Fouts was the color commentator, and he wanted to show the clip to illustrate the strength of Young's arm, and show how he could throw so effortlessly without using his legs.

If I was his coach I would be all over him to try and get him out of those bad habits.
A player who has as poor mechanics as Young should take every opportunity to try and improve them. And a lot of times it is up to the coaches to try and point those types of things out to them.

I don't get it either. Warner is definitly not the future QB for Arizona. McKown is at least questionable. Bad decision. You are right. They are the Cardinals.

He reminds me more of Randall Cunningham than Michael Vick. More accurate than Vick, but slow throwing motion and more of a long stride runner.

He reminds me of Aaron Brooks. Same type of player.

I didn't see that game, but noticed that stance a few times, and immediately dismissed all the "he's got a good college arm, but not a good enough NFL one" stuff.

Throwing as far/hard as he does with a hopscotch posture, I can imagine once he's tutored he will evidence not just more arm strength but accuracy.

He's an exciting player, and I sure wish him well, but he's a 'project' in NFL terms if ever there was one....

Good comparison although Brooks has sound mechanics. He can rocket the ball. I have seen both react the same way under heavy pressure. They still try to flip the ball out with a defender hanging on them and end up turning it over or come very close. Just like Bledsoe against Philly, but they do it more often. The good thing for Young is that he is still in college. Maybe he can correct those impulse decisions in the pros. Unfortunately for Brooks, he has not.

Yeah, he's a definite project, but after seeing Matt Jones, I would not mind the Cowboys drafting Young. They can try him at QB, and if he can't get it. They could move him to WR, and probably have a very good one.

Kind of like hedging their bets.

I have my ear plugs in place.......I have read all the post stating why they would not be in favor of Young. I Don't buy it. This kid has talent, he has speed, he has moxie:)smile:), You name it he has it.......I would draft V. Young (1st rd) in a heart beat.
