A moratorium on the Dak criticism and, in some cases, outright hate, is definitely due.

Exactly right. We should absolutely declare a "moratorium" on any criticism of Dak's abilities under center.

It's always a great idea to ban people from saying stuff you don't agree with. Especially when you're discussing someone who's currently on IR....

One of the most potential fascinating story lines is if Dalton plays at a high level with this group of players around him and the Cowboys still bow down to Dak's contract demands.

Dallas is a bad team with Dak. If Dalton comes in and gives you similar play are you really going to lock us down into mediocrity with a Dak contract just because he's a solid player and he's a free agent?

Good QB's are easier than ever to find and I think this Dalton experiment is about to show that. Many regarded him as one of the worst QB's in the league. I think he comes in and we don't see a huge drop off in results.

lol good QBs are easy to find? You’re ridiculous man. What are you going to do if Dalton crashes and burns?

I know there are a lot of fans here who aren’t fans of Dak. I also believe most Cowboys fans, regardless of opinions on the QB situation, are good people who respect our players even if they don’t like their play. Whatever they think of Dak, most would agree that Dak Prescott is a good dude, and in light of his gruesome injury, would show the class we would all expect Cowboys fans to exhibit.

So I have a request: For the few trolls who post completely ridiculous and disrespectful posts about Dak for no other reason to get a rise out of us- can we just avoid posting there altogether so those outrageous threads just die a natural death.

I was saddened to see a 27 year old young man who has suffered some very difficult family losses in his young life, have a serious injury added to his personal challenges. Whatever you think of him as a QB, I would hope we could all at least show a little empathy. I am a Dak fan, but I would feel bad for any of our players who suffered such a devastating injury.

Let’s stay classy. This world is already a pretty negative place these days that could use some empathy and kindness.
My "like" was #100. All deserved. Great post, bob.

Agreed! We've had enough hate in this world. We need some class.

Not surprise.......yea he plays for the hated Eagles but outside the game, he's truly a good guy from what I've seen.

Yeah, he definitely seems to be a good guy. At the end of the day, football is a game, and nobody should have to go through horrific injuries playing a game. It's horrible when it happens. It's sad that we have to ask fellow COWBOYS FANS to remain classy about an injury to the QUARTERBACK OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS when even a lot of EAGLES fans have been amazingly classy about Dak's injury. That says all we need to know about some "fans" of this team. Horrible! Want to know why we struggle to get FAs? Want to know why Jerry and Stephen have a hard time bringing in talent? Let's look in the mirror!!!!! Think the players don't see the vitriol coming from some of the fans? When we have fans LITERALLY hating on the QUARTERBACK, and some seemingly HAPPY about it, think it helps our case trying to get players on our team? I think it's time we all take a look in the mirror as fans. If we start being a better fan base and, some of our fans, I hate to say this, are worse than some Eagles fans, maybe more players will be INTRIGUED to play for this team. Part of the reason other fans hate our team. It's not necessarily the team at this point that I've observed other fans hating (though, Jerry doesn't help).

A lot of our haters exist BECAUSE of our fans. Believe me, I talk to a LOT of fans of other teams. Both in the fandom and outside it. A lot of it has to do with our fans. I remember talking to a Bears fan last year during the Cowboys game in Chicago who said he doesn't like our fans because some of our fans are extremely unclassy, but he complimented me for being classy towards him. Having read what I've read from some people on this board in regards to Dak's injury, I can kind of see that fan's point. I talked to an Eagles fan in New Jersey over the summer who was very classy. He said that he hated how unclassy some Eagles fans, but he told me to just understand that there are Cowboys fans that are just as bad as some of the Eagles fans that he doesn't like. Point being, perhaps we should be more classy as a fan base. Who knows? Maybe more players would be interested in playing for us?

Dak is a heck of a human being and that is worth more than anything in the world even money . I was one that didn't want the organization to sign him to 40M but he is worth 35M and I want the organization to get it done. Look at all the respect he has gotten not only by this organization but worldwide.

I'd love for us to keep him, but, imo, his football situation is not the main focus. I'm thankful that we had such a classy human being representing our team. To think we could have had Johnny Football makes me all the more grateful for Dak.

The Raiders thought QBs were easy to find when they drafted DeMarcus Russell years ago. That turned out bad (Yes, Russell had bad work habits and sipped on syrup).

I really haven’t seen much criticism or trolling about Dak.

Which tells me I’ve already ignored most of the right people to ignore.

I just hope there's no limit to the ignore list because I have a feeling I'm going to need to double that number in the next few weeks, regardless of the win/loss.

Feel bad for Dak but pointing out that he should have signed the 5 year deal is relevant. He cost himself 100 million dollars with that stupidity.

Even if you were trying to be classy, you completely miss the fact that Daks got an agent calling the contract shots. Daks not signed b/c Todd France is a butthead.

The 'But' in your statement says it all. You are 100% happy Dak got injured and put his contract in limbo. You said it yourself. So many out there like you. You use this injury to tell us how this is a blessing in disguise. You are not fooling people by sugar coating it with telling us how great a guy Dak is and you were sad lmao.

You obviously don't like to listen to anyone but yourself. Dak is a good guy and a fair QB, just not a franchise guy worth the money he wants. I hope Dak gets his money, just not with the Cowboys who now have to rebuild the OL, DL, LB, CB and Safeties on this team to be viable for playoffs. We are talking NFL football which, by the way, is a business. The bottom line is winning a SB which Dallas hasn't sniffed for a quarter century.

Unless someone says something negative regarding the injury can we stop with the online morality junk?

Instant ignore to anyone who is openly celebrating Dak’s injury.
So what you're really saying is you're just going to grandstand because who has openly celebrated his injury? Does that also go for Hill too or,just the people that get y'all's emotions flowing?

Good post Bob! I haven't seen anyone gloating or celebrating Dak's injury. Certainly haven't seen posts saying "good riddance," "Let the Dalton era begin," or any of that nonsense. There are a couple of posts where people have taken the financial standpoint in light of the injury. And that's certainly their choice/opinion which is fine IMO.

I think some posters have taken the injury as personal insult and now claiming that others are elated that we lost Dak for the year.
Frankly, I don't think any Cowboy fan is happy, elated and celebrating that loss considering the season the young man was having.
And I'm not a Dak fan. Still I realize he was a plus player in Garrett's ball control run first system where you need someone to hand off to Zeke and get out of the way. Meanwhile you get good at tossing a few passes here and there as needed.

Big Mac brings a different style where everything goes through the QB. And the flares, flats and passes to the backs are considered a long handoff. Dak has done a great job in acclimating to that style. As a fan, his injury hurts.

It is much easier to find a starting QB these days. If you look at a list of the starters you'll find 15 drafted since 2016. So nearly half the starters have less than 5 or less years in the league. (10 have less than 3 years). Back to 2014 there are 18 starters. And back to 2010 there are 23. Only 9 were drafted in the 2000s.....Brady, Rodgers, Ben, Rivers, Fitz, Brees, Stafford, Ryan, and Flacco.

Its a fact college ball is becoming more like the pro game and players are better prepared for the next level. And coaches want that young guy on the field to see what he can do before they invest the big money.

I felt bad for Gale Sayers, Theismann, Tim Krumrie, Alex Smith, and for Dak. An injury is not something to celebrate, no matter who it is.

Feel bad for Dak. Wish him a successful recovery. But I am still rooting for Dalton to succeed, if not that would mean I’ve given up on the Boys.

As far as contracts, that will pan out next year. Right now we got a lot more football to play.

did it? i mean he may still get that deal from Jerry but nbnot the AAV and gurantes he may have wanted but i dont think Jerry would not sign him after this injury..

is this injury less or as severe as the Theisman Alex smith type? anyone know?

If its not Dak will still get long time offer most likely he loses leverage on the amount and years now plus im sure some safetys should this injury linger..

or do tey tag him again and make sure his ankle is solid?
This is in all of our minds.

I am not a Dr. so am in the dark from the medical aspect.

As to whether he gets another contract offer..this is a pickley pear of a problem.

It all depends on if the team gets good medical reports.

It was pointed out that if there are no preseason games it will be hard to evaluate Dak.

So while I think the optics would be important..

The team has to decide what and how much risk are they willing to take.

And it doesn't just effect Dak.

There are 52 other guys that have an interest in that decision. So the team has to figure it out.

Dalton could really complicate any decision if he can lift the team during his stint at QB.

Does he want to stay?

Would we sign both back if the team thought it the way to go.?

It's a conundrum as they say.
