buncha haters on here...this was simply a
Drew Brees? Rich Gannon? Also Carr didnt exactly struggle his whole time in Oakland, he was a top 10 QB a couple years ago and then **** hit the fan. Look im not saying this is a slam dunk, it was merely a floating thought. Buncha haters in here.
All the arrows were pointing up with Drew Brees when he left San Diego. His play was keeping Phillip Rivers on the bench. The problem was he suffered a serious shoulder injury that left his future in doubt and the Chargers had given up a top 5 pick for Rivers 2 years earlier and he needed to play. The Chargers had a dilemma and had no choice but to let Brees walk. However they didn't replace him with a veteran QB who had just failed with another team, which is what some on this board want us to do with Dak. There were several veteran QBs kicked to the curb this past offseason and everyone of them have come up by idiots on this board as a better, more cheaper option than Dak. As for Rich Gannon he "flourished" one season in Oakland in 2002 where he passed for over 4600 yards, won league MVP and led the Raiders to the SB.
The previous 3 seasons with the Raiders his numbers weren't much better than Dak's. He fell off the map after that SB season with the Raiders. Jim Plunkett is another QB who left a bad team to have success with the Raiders but his numbers during those two SB years weren't even close to the numbers Dak has put up. As for Carr he looked good early on which earned him a big contract but he's regressed since. He only tossed ONE TD to Amari in 6 games last season, while Dak tossed 6 TDs to Amari in 9 games. Amari never had a 200 yard game with Carr or produced over 700 yards in 9 games like he did with Dak. The arrows are pointing down with Carr and they're pointing up with Dak who was on pace for 4500 yards the second half of last season.
If Carr is available after this season what does that tell you? It tells you he's continuing to struggle and that the Raiders have given up on him. Name a veteran QB from another team that "flourished" when they came to Dallas? Did Ryan Leaf flourish with the Cowboys? Did Bledsoe and Vinny flourish in Dallas? Did Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel flourish with the Cowboys? Some fans on this board are so lost they're hoping Carr stinks in Oakland this season so he can be our QB next year. Think about that for a second.
If we win the SB this season there's bozos on this board that will still want Dak replaced. They'll argue Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won SBs were they any good? They'll spin we won in spite of Dak and that he's not the answer. They'll continue to bring up these losers who've been kicked to the curb as being better options than Dak. Despite a solid offseason, training camp and preseason so far some continue wanting Dak replaced. Dak is about to reach his ceiling and fans would rather have a QB from another team who's struggled the past couple of seasons. Not many topics on this board show the lack of football intellect like these Dak debates. If you want to replace Dak with Pat Mahomes I get that but some of the names that keep coming up as better options than Dak are ridiculous! By the way if you think Carr puts the ball in the right place consistently you need to check his game film.
