The play here is to franchise him and draft his replacement. The new HC is gonna want his own pick of a QB.
Can't argue with that.
But to do that, we'd have to have him under contract.
Kind of a sign and trade type deal. ANd Dak would have to be on board with it before hand, I would assume....
that would be a tough deal to put together.....
I think that ship has sailed. You can't pay Dak top tier money and then hope to trade him.
Any trade option is gone IMO.
If I could get Tannehill for 15-20 mill versus Dak for 30-35, I would do it.
Did you make a similar post about Zeke?
Dak was well under paid for the performance he has had but came to camp, played every game, put up the best numbers of his career, played the last month injured.
Zeke was making top five RB money, held out, got paid, and put up middle of the pack stats, and was awful in 20+ runs. He looked slow and nowhere near the feed Zeke of 2016.
But by all means, set an example of the team's leader who did not want the distraction of the contract hurting the team.
Tannehill is getting more then 15-20 million. He saved the Titans season. If he beats Brady on Sunday he will make 25+.I think that ship has sailed. You can't pay Dak top tier money and then hope to trade him.

I just love how the very posters that think they are so smart are also the very posters that agrees with Jerry on running a football team. They’re not going to let their franchise QB walk. He’s going to be here a long time so just get use to it. I swear we have the dumbest fan base in the country.
Yeah, don’t understand those guys.I just love how the very posters that think they are so smart are also the very posters that agrees with Jerry on running a football team.
Don't even tag him.
Let's roll with Rush.
You know I feel like most posts about Dak are trash posts that expresses more about the poster than of Dak.Wouldn't that be something, if the front office opt to let Dak leave Dallas.
Would for sure send a message to the team that no player is safe and that playing for the greatest franchise in sports (value wise) is a privilege.
The front office tried working with him, but he has declined all the offers.
Let him leave then.
Maybe that would spark a culture change within the organization.
You want that top draft pick next year I seeDon't even tag him.

I’m not sold on Tannehill. There have been plenty of examples of average QB’s who have one good season and then go back to being below average. There isn’t a GM in the league that would take Tannehill over Dak. More than likely someone is going to overpay Tannehill and he will go right back to the average or below average QB. Tanehill is a good back up QB.
It is possible and probably from the Titans themselves.Tannehill is getting more then 15-20 million. He saved the Titans season. If he beats Brady on Sunday he will make 25+.
The franchise tag. Any team trading for Dak would also likely be permission to negotiate an extension with him before finalizing a trade.
Check the stats on runs with a loaded box. Teams were daring us to run by playing nickel knowing we would check to a run. Still falling on that accuracy BS huh. Too bad Dak is top 5 in tight window throws.Wow? Must be a Zeke hater.
Look, bottom line is Dak is not now and has never been a top tier QB. I really don't care about his stats because those are all taken out of context. What matters is can he make THAT pass through THAT window at THAT special time in a game? The answer is no. He has had accuracy problems since day one.
I know you hate Zeke, and yes, his numbers are down, but that's because, and if you understood football you would know this, teams load the box against him due to the fact they don't fear Dak's arm. Go ahead, throw those slants, yeah, Cooper MAY break one long if our DB falls on his face, but most of the time it's just gonna be a 8 - 12 yard gain. Cant do that in the red zone though, so kick the FG and move on.
Zeke is the only reason this offense has any gas. This team needs a QB who can hit a receiver who is NFL open, not one who has trouble hitting a receiver who is High School WIDE Open.
Troy Aikman says pay the man. Troy knows QBing
