I think Briles is Jerry's kind of guy, probably Payton, too. I also think that they would not tolerate any meddling, so would probably decline an offer.
Briles might be desperate for a job. Jerrys kind of guy.

This isn't true at all

Zimmer is super successful right now

Todd Bowles is doing well with the Jets

Todd Haley is killing it in Pittsburgh

Wade Phillips is doing an amazing job in Denver

There have been plenty of good coaches that have come in here...they just don't perform as well here...

Maybe that should tell us something
It's not about who our HC is. It's that our HC will always be a puppet.

And why we need someone who Jerry might listen more too while keeping us afloat when it goes south unless we want it to tank. Might be something to root for if we thought Jerry would change his ways.

Josh McDaniels. He certainly can pick up and win with a back up QB. He's ripe for the picking too for a HC position.

I loathe him as a coach. He is liked by most players because he is soft and they get away with pretty much anything.

Except violating the dress code. Jerry is the soft one....

I would prefer an NFL experienced replacement.

Jerry and Stephen will always have their radio shows and press conferences, but a coach who is given team authority can easily overlook that.

A new coach has to be able to hire his own staff, that will be the number one indicator as to how much control he has negotiated for himself. Loyalty issues are paramount to organizational success and failure, just ask Wade Phillips.

If i was an NFL billionaire owner, i would use every tool at my disposal to try and convince Jim Harbaugh to be my head coach.

That would be my pick but the Joneses would never give up enough control to make this realistic for a guy like Harbaugh

You're probably right, but Harbaugh would only need the team authority requirement not the the personnel side.

He didn't have it in SF and didn't appear to need it to be successful. I think he is a brilliant coach. Absolutely obsessive when it comes to leadership and football.

I think he is one of the few coaches who, if allowed free reign with the team itself, wouldn't care if the Jones boys had a million radio shows and made all the draft selections, he would just get the maximum out of anyone they gave him.

Nobody was happier than myself when the morons with the Niners decided to run him off.

I agree, he was given too much responsibility in Denver too soon. He clearly is a good offensive coordinator and he has been learning under the best for a while now.

Probably won't be a popular pick, but I the offensive players are tailor made for Shanahan

Ok Please be serious in this thread no Garret or Jones bashing?

I know fans have been complaining for years about Garrett ! So let's say at the end of this Season he is let go and you get your wish what do you do.

Who would you want for Garretts replacement, do you replace linehan and marinelli also, if so who do you bring in ?

Please give serious answers

------------------------

Rules:

No answers like :
Belichek, Tomlin or any coaches you know are not going anywhere and we are not gonna get.
No sarcastic answers like no one will work as Jerry's puppet!

I really want to know who you seriously would like !

Josh McDaniels. Josh McDaniels. Josh McDaniels. What he could do with this offense would be mind blowing

Yes..

but who is going to allow Jerry to call the shots and mess up what they want to do?

Lets be honest..HC and assistants who have left here don't get rehired after leaving.

They end up back in college or retired.

Parcells. Switzer. Johnson..Campo

only Phillips succeeded in Denver and after he passed thru Houston first.

Assistants like Davis, Turner, Wannstead bounced around the league.

Sean Peyton was the only successful guy from Dallas and he really was a Giant/Parcells project..

not Dallas.

So I have no idea.
Todd haley did ok as well i believe.

If Sean Payton gets fired I hope Garrett gets fired within the next few hours. Sign Payton within the next day or so. Payton has proven he can win with talent. Garrett not so much.

Is he even on the hot seat?

If Garrett gets fired Jerry will likely return back to where he's been and hire another yes man. He needs to hire someone who's had a track record for success in the league, someone the players will respect.
