and Garrett has talked about having a RB who can carry the vast majority of the load, if they were so gung ho on RBBC then Murray would never have gotten the carries he did last season. Randle would have taken on more of the load but didn't. I have no doubt they are selling the ideal of RBBC now because they have no choice. I also think they are hoping one of the RB can step up and show himself as a player who can be the lead RB who will get a good portion of the carries

Its so strange, how some Cowboys fans, cant comprehend that fact;

The RB and HC have talked about the committee approach this year. Past years they talked about bellcows. It is what it is. I think Cowboys fans are hoping someone steps up to be like Emmitt or Tony. It's what Cowboys fans do.

Yes they are talking about it because there is no other choice until or unless someone can step up and do it. Again if your belife is the best way to run an offense is by RBBC then they would have done so last year as well. Only thing that has changed is Murray is not on the team.

Im not sure the team wouldnt have spent 11.5 million over 3 years.

That's a slap in the face seeing how much they are paying that bum Brandon Carr who has contributed none his whole time here.

If you were Murray, would you except that? No.

I know, then why not split carries a lot more when Murray and Randle and Dunbar are playing here? They gave it to Murray because he produced, had he not been producing Randle carries would have been a lot more than they were.

After looking at the team the Cowboys had last season with the best triplets in the league I would have paid Murray 8M because this was a championship caliber team with him and now I'm not so sure. His production helped make Romo the most efficient we've ever seen him. He took a lot of pressure off Romo which improved his decision making. Romo isn't going to be the same efficient QB if he's facing a lot of 3rd and longs this season. You don't lose a player the caliber of Murray and not feel it. If there's a significant drop off in the efficiency and consistency of the running game the Cowboys are going to be scrambling to win 9 games in 2015.

Murray made me change my opinion of Romo. I used to blame him a lot for all his mistakes but after seeing how a good running game helped him, I blame Jerry and the FO more. If we go back to our 8-8 seasons, that's where the blame should go.

Was talking about what Matthews got from the Egirls.

But Dez is worth 14m and Carr is worth 10m???

8m is the going rate for top RBs and Murray proved last year what a top RB can help this team accomplish.

They are 10m under the cap and Murray's cap hit is 5m this year. At worst it would've been a 3 year deal, bout the same as Romo.

Chip Kelly has already said that he can see the wear on Murray from last season. Thats none of my business.

We speculated for years if Romo had a solid running game it would limit his mistakes and we saw that last season. He tied a career low with 9 int's and his decision making was so much better he eliminated many of the impulse throws that got him in trouble in previous seasons.

Our fans just won't admit that we are a better team with Murray instead of McFadden, this year, right now.

If the only argument is money then that is a bad argument. We are 10m under the cap this year. Add Murray and drop McFadden and they are still 6m under the cap. Play hardball with Carr instead of Murray and we are back to 10m under.

And guess what???? Randle is still here in case Murray stumbles. And he doesn't have to carry it 250+. He can stay fresh and hit the big plays.

Right now we don't know what we are with McFadden and Randle to be honest. We can speculate but nothing to go by in terms of field action on this team. I agree what it has done is left Dallas with some uncertainties.

I'm not trying to play both sides of the fence just trying to honest with no spin. I would feel a lot better with Murray based on what I have seen from him the past 2 seasons. With Randle we have a guy with very few carries in his career and McFadden who played in a hell hole they call Oakland. I understand the doubt but at this point willing to sit back and let them show themselves

I swear some of you posters are like damn children crying over spilled milk!

Murray is gone, he is not coming back, he did help last season, he is now an eagle...and a lyric from the band the Eagles..

"I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ***....get over it"!

I'm over it, my only concern is what our current RB will do. When people try to belittle what Murray did and the importance the running game to the Cowboys then of course I will give my views.
I agreed with the organization in not paying him or offering a matching offer that Philly gave him once he signed that was that, we move on and now the concern is Randle and McFadden and how the running game will fair in Dallas. Pre season is not giving much indication so of course people are going to get antsy.

Get ansy all you want over the backs on the team now, that's understandable. And anyone that does not give credit for what Murray did last season is a fool!

But, as of right now, Murray is a friggen eagle and is the enemy. And, he is not on the team anymore and he never will be on this Cowboys team again. So, all the moaning and groaning from our fans is actually pathetic because what is done is done!

Crying about the past changes nothing, looking forward should be the goal, whether us fans like what we see or don't like what we see. Murray is last years player, and, good luck to him in the future.

I cannot wait until Murray lays 235 yards against the Cowboys.

I know where Murray is and I know it is not on the Cowboys. Again I have no concerns what so ever about Murray. I do have concerns over our RB. Not saying they will fail but I am saying it is a big unknown. When talking about a team who has SB aspirations having unknowns makes people uneasy.
Believe me I want nothing more than for Randle to go out and show he can get the job done and same with McFadden. I’m not anti either guy but outside of hope we don’t know what they will or will not do.

Thank you for this post, it was good. We don't know what the RB's on this team will do, but for crying out loud get Murray out of your head!
If somehow the Cowboys don't win the SB this year, all I'm going to read is that was because we did not have Murray.

Well, when the Cowboys play the eagles...I'm guessing the league leader in rushing is going to put the smack down on the Cowboys. I cannot wait to see that.

Not from me since it is a hypothetical comment on what if Murray was here. What I will say if the run game fails and hurts the team is Dallas made a mistake in not going after a RB with more upside than a 5th rd pick and a RB who in 7 seasons has not done much.

As for how Murray does vs the Cowboys? I hope we shut him down. I may have respect for him but come game day I expect the defense to go out and do their jobs and part of that will be stopping Murray, Mathews and Sproles

Think about it this way. Teams had to and will still have to account for what Romo can do (led the league in passing last year), yes some of that was because of Murray.

How about teams having to account for Witten, Dez and the Bease running around leaving the LB's to try and cover them, and then with what is consider the best oline in football opening lanes against the defense, Murray had gaping holes to run through. You know as well or better than I do that a team is not a one man show. Murray was a beneficiary of the team around him, not the other way around.

Let's watch him do the same thing with his new team.
