Looking Like McFadden Will Be The Starter

Think about it this way. Teams had to and will still have to account for what Romo can do (led the league in passing last year), yes some of that was because of Murray.

How about teams having to account for Witten, Dez and the Bease running around leaving the LB's to try and cover them, and then with what is consider the best oline in football opening lanes against the defense, Murray had gaping holes to run through. You know as well or better than I do that a team is not a one man show. Murray was a beneficiary of the team around him, not the other way around.

Let's watch him do the same thing with his new team.

Teams have done that Romo, Witten and Dez have all been apart of the 8-8 when we passed like crazy. Their personal numbers look good and they should they are each talented players my interest is in team accomplishment and to do that I think the running game is a big part of it. I agree Murray benefited as well because of the team around him.

When Emmitt was here he too benefited by the talent around him but none the less contributed in making the run game strong to go along with a great QB, WR and TE. End results 3 SB in 4 years.

If Dallas goes back to the 500 plus passing I think it is more likely we will not win. Dallas could win with the all out passing vs bad teams but our record vs quality teams was poor.

Dude...Romo had to pass, pass, pass because the defense could not stop other teams. Romo had urgency to try and score as quickly as his team could because he must have known that if he does not make plays to try and win the game, the Cowboys could or would have ended up with a worse record than 8-8.

I think maybe now, hopefully, this defense can get some 3 and outs so Romo does not have to pass, pass, pass.

One squad compliments the other. Last year the defense sucked. The offense helped to keep them off the field (yes Murray helped). But he was not the sole reason that the team did what they did.

Maybe this season, with the running backs that are on the team at the start of the season, won't have to carry the rock 1000 times to let the defense rest...maybe the defense can give some time back to the offense and let them pick and choose on how they want to score without having to try and keep up because of the defense.

I find it ironic on a post designed to give Murray props, you pick a broken play that catches most of the defensive plays out of position and one that Murray runs to darkness (yet again) and looks for contact at the end instead of trying to gain the most possible yardage.

That's not completely true. He didn't want to pverpay for Murray. There is a big diffeence.

Once he realized he wasn't going to be able to resign Murray there wasn't another back out there he was willing to pay good money to. He knew McFadden would come cheap and decided to bank on his OL and that's where all the money is.

And, did you listen to the last comment during that clip? lol

(paraphrasing) "Did you see that...that was amazing...this is what we saw before he got injured..."

Seriously?

You cut my quote off. We saw an example last Saturday what happens when you get in a lot of 3rd and long situations. Not saying that's going to happen a lot during the regular season but it's something to keep an eye on the remainder of preseason.

Murray was trapped with nowhere to go and turned a big loss into a huge gain. It was a terrific play! He was completely corralled with several defenders having a shot at him and he got away destroying Kiwanuka in the process. The Cowboys don't currently have a back who can pull a play like that off. Murray has turned a number of what should have been negative plays into positive plays.

Every play Murray made for the Cowboys someone will find something negative about it.

Randle just made a play like that the other night lol. It didn't go for a big gain but there was nothing there and he cut it back for positive yards.

He also had 7'carries for 30 yards running behind horrid blocking.

I picked a great play that helped the Cowboys win an important football game. Several players had a shot at Murray and he destroyed one of their best defensive players knocking the crap out of him and here you are criticizing the play.

Tons of running backs have done that...Murray was not the first and Randle won't be the last.

But I did see some burst with vision. Nice clip, bro!

It's clear Randle has 2 things.. Patience and vision.

However Cowboyszone thinks he'll see the hole and take off running towards our own endzone.

From the oline that he had to run through, and this was not the starters...he was looking and planting his feet, hitting that little crease for some nice yards. He kind of reminded me of a smaller faster back. I'm excited to see him run behind the big uglies.

My expectations at the start of training camp took a complete nose dive in comparison to the Januarh-June months, which for my sanity, might be a good thing. I don't see us repeating the same success as last season unless the talent on defense makes up for the [possible] declination in our run game. I wasn't a fan of keeping Murray at 8-9 mill per year. But I'm not so sure if I'm a fan, or even like what I am witnessing right this moment.

I continue to get this feeling that last year was truly a special year and was our opportunity to get that elusive 6th ring. The feeling at the moment is too similar to the 2008 season.

Hopefully I am wrong.

Cherry picked would be some combination of games from 2012 to early 2014

This is the LAST 39 games played, period.

Oh yeah, RBs get banged up.

That's exactly why you don't pay an older RB that's had multiple injuries throughout his career $8mil! Thanks for supporting my point. Hence the reason why most teams play RBBC. Even the stupid Eagles know this. Go ahead and spend all the allocated money on one oft-injured back, then he gets hurt.. Well, we're back to talking about how Stupid Jerry is for spending so much money on a player on the back side of his career. Geez, some of these fans will never be happy... Thier buying into the crap being sold on ESPN.

Why can't folks just get over it. "F" Murray.. He said it wasn't about the money.. and although all the leaders on this team tried courting him back..he choose our division rivals and slapped all Cowboy fans in the face by saying "I wanted to go to a team that I felt had the best chance to win a SB." WHAT?! Murray, you do realize you signed with the Eagles, right?..

I bang my head against the wall trying to figure out why some fans can't figure out that OUR team has found the secret sauce. The success last year when most thought we would suck, the great coaches and players we have obtained over the last few years, and FINALLY the cap is under control....most fans, even other team fans, can see that the Cowboys are a ascending team again. Yet, some want to beat a dead horse over a player that will be replaced. And at a position that most analysts agree is the easiest to replace. So keep wasting your breath, the sky isn't falling, and I'm going to enjoy listening to people crawfish ab thier comments later this year.

Go Cowboys!!!
