Looking Like McFadden Will Be The Starter

He was a great RB last season. You build by adding a solid QB and go from there.

And even adding a solid QB to an oline that is crap will not produce what that QB can do with a great line.
Amazing...

He was a good rb that had a great season on 2014..

What if he puts another 1500 up this year and the next? I think he has a real chance to go down as a great Running back..... I would define him as a really good solid RB, and a great football player and professional.

What if's don't count.

He was better than a "good" RB and his franchise single game rushing record of 253 yards along with his franchise single season rushing record of 1845 yards and his 4.8 career rushing average is proof of that. As great as Emmitt and the Great Wall of Dallas was Emmitt didn't have as high a career rushing average with the Cowboys as Murray did. Murray's 5.5 rushing average in 2011 was higher than any single season rushing average Emmitt ever had and Murray accomplished that behind a transitioning OL. Emmitt had only one season where he averaged over 5.0 a carry and Murray's already had 2 seasons averaging over 5.0 a carry. By no means am I saying Murray was better than Emmitt some will attempt to spin that but the point I'm making is as great as Emmitt was statistically Murray has been better.

So you wont even consider the future for DM?

We sit here and say he wont do any good in Philly and condemn him to "not" a great RB.

Can you predict the future?
The man just broke E. Smiths Single Season Record, Franchise Record, and won NFL Offensive player of the year (or somehting like that). He put up an 1800 dollar hamburger!!

Who is anybody to say, he wont get close again? I guess we will have to wait and see.....

What I'm saying is that Murray is an eagle...so screw him and the eagle he flew out on. I don't care what he does with the eagles. If he puts up 1500 good for him and good luck with all that.

ohh well, yeah, I agree......look at my profile pic. I hope we knock him around so much, we put him on the bench for a few.

He really is dead to me;

It might not be the Cowboys that put him on the bench, but I really doubt that he will have the same success that he had last year. Sooner or later he will miss games. Oh...but our resident know it all would rather have Murray than the oline that we have now.

But, that is the KJJ factor! lol

Talking out of the both sides of your mouth. Read this sentence again, KJJ.

"By no means am I saying Murray was better than Emmitt..."

"the point I'm making is as great as Emmitt was statistically Murray has been better."

The only one "spinning" anything is you. smh

I've never seen any player go from goat to hero as fast as Murray has around these parts.

People were calling him glass before and now he's a hero.

I've never seen a player provide as much for their team as Murray did for the Cowboys last season and be portrayed as a goat. One point on the comment I made previously a player can be better than another statistically but that doesn't mean they're a better player. There were several QBs back in the 90s who had better stats than Aikman but they weren't better QB's.

Murray is an NFL running back that was the beneficiary of being on a good team last year. As a matter of fact, Murray was not the only player that had success last season, the whole team had success last year, and not all of it was Murray.

But, then again, I try and think in term of "team"...a concept that is lost on posters that have never played on a team, been a part of a team, or even contributed to a team...yet they have all the answers and want to credit on player for what the Cowboys record was last season. 12-4...all Murray.

Pathetic, pathetic I say! lol

Yeah, KJJ, back in the 90's when you were growing up some QB's may have had better stats than Aikman...but Aikman's "team" was better than those QB's you are trying to mention. Amazing huh? That is the concept of team.

To take it another step forward...since you like to dog Romo ("Romo could not even beat a one legged Rodgers") Romo would have not had his best season so far from last year if he did not have the team to help him have great success. And, Murray was a part of that, but he was not the sole reason for that. Romo was not the reason the team had great success either...the success had to do with each player being "one part" of the team and doing their job right.

Stick to surfing, or tennis, golf...something. Better yet, go study some stats to win and start arguments...or, just learn the game because it's evident you have never been on a team.

I think we downgraded the RB position. Randle/DMC does not equal Murray.

I think Murray will have a good to great season in Philly....barring injury.

I dont think Randle/DMC will be able to be the focal point of the Offense. We are going to have to adjust......

I dont think are defense will be all that much better......

But I have faith in this coaching staff. Somehow, Someway, were going to find a way to win games.....

If we go 5-3, even 4-4 after the first 8. We will be fine going down the stretch......get Hardy going, maybe Mcclain, rookies getting experience and adjust to an Offense without much at the RB position.......

That first 3-6, 4-7 games may be rough.....but well get there; I have trust in the coaching staff; And Romo. Witten. Dez; well get there......

edit: forgot about the Bye week.

It's going to be tough...all games are. But, from the way the team turned it around last season even after Sean Lee went down, the whole defense gave it their all, even the so called scrubs.

Now, Scandrick went down. Murray is gone, however, there are some additions on defense with Hardy, Gregory...etc. Some young players.

Hardy has to pick splinters out of his butt for the first 4 games. Ro McClain has to get rid of his dealer he has to sit for 4 games. Idiots...

Then there is the scheme, the game plans for each team after the roster is set starting with the Giants. That's where the coaching comes in...and only the strong smart players that the coaches can rely on are the ones that will try and win the prize.

He had a great season. He isn't even in the top 5 at his position in ability and his availability will always be a question.

But come on what's important is you think having a great rb is better than having a great OL.

You should....stop.

What if's don't count.

He had over 5500 yards for DAL. That is a lot in 4 years

He is the franchise leader for yards in a game and yards in a season. That means he did stuff Emmitt, Herschel, Tony D never did.

He is also the NFL leader in consecutive 100yd games, breaking Jim Brown's 60 year old record.

We don't know if he is a great back or not yet, but he had a great year and would be the best RB on the team if he was kept.

They aren't mutually exclusive.

Putting a good to great RB behind a potentially great line is better than having 2 average backs.

If you can't admit that you are just being obtuse.

It would have been cool if he was here. It will be interesting to see if he can duplicate that.

Emmitt stayed with the Cowboys for his success, Herschel and Tony D. moved on to another team. That is why I believe that Emmitt had success, because he wanted to represent the Dallas Cowboys along with his teammates.

"Don't leave the one that brought you to the dance". - That is what Murray did...
