It was easy to see.

Everybody went to the ground except for Bennett who was crouched down and ran out of the building.

Bennett didn't do anything illegal. But, if you take a look at the video and you ask 'what person out of this group is behaving in a suspicious manner consistent with being a shooter?' you would point out Bennett.

And that's why the police detained him. They didn't even arrest him. They didn't rough him up. They did yell at him and say they would blow his head off. And they apologized for detaining him after the entire incident was over. All the while Bennett claimed he wasn't running when the video shows that he was.

I'm not detesting Bennett for running nor do I think he did anything remotely wrong. But neither did the police and Bennett had to make false claims about him being detained.

I agree nothing was done wrong unless the cop dug his knee into his back like Bennett claims. He could face an excessive force charge if Bennett wasn’t resisting.

These body cams should not be able to be turn off and on any time the police want. But I thought I read the detaining officer had his body cam off during the pursuit but later had it on when detaining Bennett.

The big issue is the battery life for the cameras, so when cops turn them off, it's usually to save the battery life and recharge them quicker. Obviously, there will be bad cops that will turn them off when they are doing something illegal, but in most cases cops travel in more than 1 so to get more than 1 bad cop to turn their body cameras off is less likely and would be very stupid because if there is a complaint filed nobody is going to believe that 2 or 3 cops all had battery issues at the same time that the complaint occurred.

Man you’re such a jagoff. Who asked you anyway? Do you enjoy jumping all over people for no reason.
NO reason?:lmao::lmao2:I was offering to help you through the video but with that response, forget about it. I've seen the way you complain about life in America. It's no wonder it's so miserable for you the way you treat people that just want to help.

A cop digging his knee into a suspect's back isn't illegal and isn't excessive force when they are trying to handcuff the suspect.

It is a perfectly legal police arresting procedure that has been okay'd by law enforcement and legislative branches across the country for decades and it's usually the preferred method of handcuffing a suspect when they are on the ground regardless of ethnicity or gender.

Here's a tutorial on the subject. As I said, it's a handcuff and search technique which was what the officers had to do when they have a suspect that they believe may have a gun:

I am not sure why police had to use guns to get Michael Bennet on the ground, they could of just used the national anthem.

They already had their guns drawn because they were entering what was thought to be an active shooter situation (I apologize if this was already addressed in the thread).

SMH I guess being a jerk is your idea of helping. Please don’t try and help me any more on this or anything else.

Cops have a tough job. Bennett didn’t do anything wrong and neither did the cops from what I can see from the videos. If the cop did put his knee in his back and threaten to shot him then the officer went too far. But the videos in the link don’t show that.
The Police seemed reasonable to me. There was a lot of excitement in the heat of the moment.

I haven't followed this story. Why was there such a police presence there in the first place?

just watched the videos and read the info for the first time. as usual, police in the wrong.

But, everyone likes to throw out liberty if they can claim safety. Which is horribly sad.
