I'm not aware of any Cowboy fans who remotely think Pacman is a good guy.

Yes, Pacman has acted the fool. Now he is suspended. Too, now he is one of ours. As soon as the suspension is over, we should embrace Pacman and give him a clean slate.
But even then Pacman won't be off the hook.
The media, the league and Calvin Hill will be all over him and will watch his every move.

But to think that some fans think pacman is a good guy is disingenuous, don't you think?

Hypocrite much?

What tarnishes the League and its reputation more? Belicheat's Spygate or Pacman's "Makin' it Rain"?

Yet when it comes to the players and minor coaches Goodell will throw you to the dogs with no mercy or leniency. But if you're talking about the Pats and the very integrity of the game of football, Goodell plays his part to sweep stuff under the rug, playing with soft gloves, compromising.

The problem with appearing tough and uncompromising is that you can't compromise, otherwise people will just dislike you and see you as some kind of tyrant or a rat as opposed to someone with real leadership skill, or someone thats a good role model, someone you can follow. Like a Bill Parcells for instance. Bill Parcells will throw the book at you. And he'll throw the book at anyone. Goodell will throw the book at you if your a rowdy player or a minor coach, but he won't throw the book at big time headcoaches, nor is he transparent about the way he investigates the big timers.

My distaste for Goodell is that he's compromisingly uncompromising. That is, he's inconsistent. A hypocrite. That tells me he rules with his heart, not with his head. Theres too much "Goodell" where the Commish is supposed to be.

Just my opinion!

Only God can judge that not man hisself. But I have to say everybody makes mistakes that's what makes us human.

Cowboys history is dealt with players that made mistakes like Michael Irvin, Hollywood Henderson, Deion Sanders, Leon Lett, and many more... But a whole lot of them players are winners.

Something I like about "so-called troubled/bad players in some eyes", they play with a chip on their shoulder, and that's what makes them and the team so much better.

As I said before.....it makes NO difference to me what he did on his own time. As long as he plays within the rules on the field and entertains me then I like the guy. Football is full of bad guys. That's what makes it great.

He is a criminal who is constantly in trouble with the law. Not the law of the nfl but the law of the country.

I am sure if he was partly responsible for causing someone in your family to be paralyzed you would be signing a different tune.

Football is full of bad guys and that is why the commisoner is trying to fix that, I am not sure he can but he should be handing out suspensions.

That piece of garbage in st.louis should have been thrown out of the league for killing an innocent woman while driving his car drunk.

I dont think that since the day pacman was traded here, many fans think he is a good guy who just needs a second chance, like an afterschool special.

If he were a Commander they would be applauding the commish. I am not saying all fans, just that certain type we all know. The kind that lose their cowboys gear when the team is struggling.

The Spygate. Why? Because, you telling me you have to cheat to win games?

What Pac Man issue is, off-the-field... Not in the NFL. The Spygate is in the NFL, so it would tarnish it more because of the simple fact spying on another team takes the fun out of the game and it's no better than shadding points (i.e. NBA referee that's facing time)...

I was actually a fan of Goodell until the Spygate garbage. It seems Goodell has a different standard for head coaches than the rest of the league. If anything, head coaches should be held to a higher level. Belicheat should have received at least a one year suspension. IMO, cheating by a head coach tarnishes the image of the league more than getting arrested.

Bull ****. Nobody thinks Pacman is a saint but enough is enough. This dude had to sit out all year and is trying everything he can to get back to doing what he is paid to do and this Goodell freak wants to drag it out. Meanwhile he brushes off the Spygate thing, adding another game to the schedule, looming labor problems. I have been sick of this guy ever since I saw him at the press conference he had at the Super Bowl. He came off arrogant and smug and I can't stand the guy.

So because you feel he didn't handle spygate correctly, then Pacman should get off easier?

Great logic.

I understand your point. But, Adam didn't pull the trigger. He got a little tipsy and threw up a ton of money in the air and caused a mini riot. Do you really think he wanted anybody to get hurt? Who goes to a strip club and wants to cause trouble? Nobody!
His crimes are minor to me...and they don't affect me. He hasn't killed anybody, or raped, etc.
What about all of the players that use drugs? Steroids? I worry about them more...that affects the game on the field.

And do you really want to see the game clean??? This isn't the choir. It's football... It's just like life...there are good people and bad people playing it.

How would he be 'getting off easier'?

A year has passed.

Has he gotten in more trouble?

If so, suspend him or ban him.

If not, let the man try to clean things up and work out with his team.

Just make a decision.

I thought back when Goodell suspended pacman it was a good decision. he could set an example of pacman by suspending players who are drunk driving, beating people up,messing with drugs and other stuff like that. but i always thought suspending him for a full season was too much. maybe 8 games at most but a whole season is un called for. now you got Goodell saying how he's in no hurry to reinstate him and he's taking the role like "i'll reinstate him when i feel like it". between pacman, wade wilson, and other instances Goodell is abusing his power. those guys like pacman and wade wilson lopst a part of there careers for doing something unrelated to the NFL. yet Belicheat gets caught cheating and he lost a lil bit of cash which he got back and 1 draft pick. but back to pacman if he has stayed out of trouble and continue's to do so, he should be reinstated. If he's not he should take the commisioner and the league to court for trying to stop him from making a living.

No. I would be pissed at the guy who actually pulled the trigger.

Goodell suspended him for a season. Not a season and 2 games. Unless he has done something wrong it should be lifted.

This was just speculation anyways. I've heard on a couple of occasions that some think he will be suspended for another year. Again, speculation.

A better question -- and the one that seems to weight heavily is whether he was straight with the commish. He's already been caught in a few lies. e.g., Adam: "I don't go to strip clubs anymore" Commish: "Really, then why did my security staff see you go into one last night?" e.g., Adam: "I had nothing to do with the shooting in Vegas", Commish "so why did you pay $15,000 to others involved in the incident?"

I'd say that is getting into trouble.

No, Goodell suspended him for a year with Jones eligible to appeal for reinstatement after that period. The reinstatement is not automatic. But hey, thanks for posting.
