It amazes me how many on this site have no issue whatsoever sticking with the status quo. "Keep Ware, Keep Romo, Keep Witten, Keep Free on a paycut, Give Carter another year, Let Spencer come back for cheap...etc...etc..etc.." It's sickening how so many fans on this site are scared to death of turning the page on this core. I am ready. Trust me, IF Jerry did NOT give Romo that extension, if he made Romo play out his final year of the contract, Manziel would be the draft pick, period. I just wish Jerry would wake up from his brain dead state and realize this core is finished no matter how many ways you try to tinker it. They're damaged goods, they're finished. Bring in JFF and you automatically have the leader we've desperately being wanting since Aikman retired. No more slouching shoulders, whining to teammates, no more "if this is the worst thing that happens to me in my life....". We'd finally have that dawg who would be foaming at the mouth to win games. Someone that Dez can feed off of. Let me stop before I start getting emotional....I'm just sick of this core.

Just be patient and let Garrett and Romo flame out.

The new coach can then decide on what kind of offense he would like to run and the type of passer required to get it done.

He also told Houston to draft him as number 1. What is your point? He will make a ploy to every team willing to take him...

Kid is a riot...

A real fan would have made kickoff.

Hopefully Manziel playing in Dallas remains nothing more than a fairy tale. I'm not even talking about his game, I just don't like the guy.

Spot on:

"If something happens, and it's the Cleveland Browns, I'm going to pour my heart out for the Dawg Pound and try to win a Super Bowl for Cleveland," Manziel says. "I don't care if they've had 20 starting quarterbacks since 1999. I'm going to be the 21st and the guy that brought them the Super Bowl."

I would love for Manziel to fall to the Cowboys. Let him sit behind Romo for a couple of years. It will never happen but it would be fun to watch.

I'm going to leave a quote here by Stephen Jones, a reporter asked back in 2012. "Who was the number one pick on the draft board for the Cowboys back in the 2012 NFL draft?" "Andrew Luck was".. They've already tried to replace Romo once and I don't blame them.
If Dallas can trade up to select Manziel, they will. The kid can win when it matters the most. That's a born leader of men.

I bet Andrew Luck was the #1 QB on the Patriots draft board that year, as well. That's how draft boards are constructed.

I'm pretty much on board with you at this point, I just don't like Manziel.

He was #1 on EVERYBODY'S draft board. That has nothing to do with "trying" to replace anybody.

I could care less about that, I just don't have faith in his size or style; but I may eat dirt on that.

There are about $108 million reasons why the Cowboys won't draft Manziel.

That doesn't mean they were trying to replace Romo. Only that they apparently graded Luck like the rest of the planet.

If one quote from Manziel is generating well over 100 posts on one site, imagine what actually drafting him would do media-wise.....I am hopeful that Jones doesn't read this thread or any other one regarding this kid....he will forget that he has a team to improve and put us in the dark ages by trading the farm to get him...I can't imagine even Jones is THAT stupid....

My personal opinion on Manziel is that low end is Doug Flutie.......in and out of NFL and CFL and a good - not great QB. High end is..... Joe Montana who owns a few rings. Which QB are you going to get......only time will tell.

Although Flutie in today's NFL would stand a much better chance of playing and being successful than he was in the 80's. Give Manziel a coach that will tailor an offense to his strengths and he will be a success, just not many coaches out there that could handle that, Pete Carroll obviously could as could Sean Payton. Manziel does have some DOG in him which this team sorely lacks...Bryant is the only one.

How can you say that? today's NFL is much bigger and faster...bringing Flutie to today's NFL does not make him bigger, faster or improve his skills...Flutie today would be a 3rd stringer at best...

My thinking... right or wrong is that Jerry thinks we have a 2 year window here with Romo Witten Ware before they are too old(if they aren't already) in terms of Superbowl win. Now we all know and hope Jerry knows that we need a few parts on defence to get us there so can we really draft JM and ignore pass rush and maybe safety needs? With our current salary cap situation we have to be smart in this years draft if we plan on getting Romo and company that super bowl ring. C'mon Jerry don't give up multiple first rounders to get the chance to draft JM. Having said that my Son would be the first one in line for a JM jersey he thinks he's awesome. Then again who knows what Jerry will do sometimes he doesn't even know.

I would trade 2 #1's right now and I love Romo and I also know that we need Def as a priority, but Johnny Football would be soooo cool in a Cowboys uniform.

Your name has been taken out of the hat to be the next GM of the Dallas Cowboys.
