Can't say anything bad about Martin......a warrior.....simply beat up by injuries. Chance to heal and make a decision.

Zack Martin has been a warrior throughout his career and will always be one of my favorite Cowboys. Of course, Jerry has done so many head scratching restructures, particularly with Martin, they may be better off bringing him back next year to finish his contract.

Sorry guys to bring a baseball analogy into this...but a long time ago Branch Rickey said....

"it's better to get rid of a player a year too early rather than a year too late".

I believe this to still be true, across all sports.

And we know Jerry does not subscribe to this theory.

I'm not sure if it was posted yet, but I just read that Martin is nominated for the Walter Peyton Man of the Year.
Next stop, Canton Ohio. What a stud he was right from the get go. Him, Tyron and Frederick - what great drafting there. 2 certain future Hall of Famers and one who was forced to retire at 29 because of a disease or else may have made that group 3 for 3

Sad but I knew it was over when he was on his knees and they got a close up of his face. He knew.

Honestly, this is for the best. Let the young guys play as this is a lost season IMO anyway. Martin has been playing hurt all year with that back so at this point, it's probably time to just let him heal and figure out what he wants to do beyond this season.

You watch him line up and get set and then drop back after the snap and you could tell his back hasn't been good all year. I noted in another thread a buddy who used to be a high school coach and a grad assistant OL coach said when he sees the game, you can tell there is something not right with his back.

I hope he goes to a real playoff contender and gets a ring whether it’s as backup or starter. Go pull a Ware

Many a career wasted here. Maybe Zak will be given his release and get a chance to play for a real playoff team next year and get a ring. Maybe play for the Texans. Their arrow is pointed up.
The Texans? Lol

Hold off on that, because you HAVE to have a partner to trade with, just can't say hey let's trade him and POOF someone automatically is there
You bet one of the contenders would have taken an all pro RG for a 3rd or 4th rd pick
We never tried

Time to let him go.

At least we should get a 4th round comp pick for him.

Yep, add him to the already long list of players that wasted their careers here because of Jerry.
Every players does not get to play for a team that wins a Super Bowl. He chose to stay with the Dallas Cowboys. He knew their track record in recent decades and how the franchise conducts business.

So this excuses the Jones for wasting his career?

Yeah, those 7 first team All-Pros and 2 second team All-Pros were definitely fake.

Any bum offensive guard can roll out of bed and do that from the day they're drafted.
