I don't buy this, although Forte is a good back.

He is 29 though, so you don't pay age at RB and he still wants good RB money.

Trading Leary for Matt Forte at 7 million is a non-starter for me. I like Chris Johnson as a place-holder until the draft next year for maybe less than half that, and we get to keep Leary.

I like Forte but he is due 8m for this year and it is the last year of his deal.

I would not give them Leary. I would give them Carr.

Hell no! That ship has sailed. Forte looks like he runs in sand now. No thank you!

When I first heard the rumor I was like 'hell yeah', but then I realized I was thinking of Forte from 3 years ago.

He has a lot of miles on those tires.

Ah. Yeah a random prediction from a random individual has completely thwarted my previous post. Darn.

Lol, I wasn't being serious, but that random individual was the great Michael Irvin, who also predicted Dez to be MVP the year before with 2000 yards and 25 TD's.

However, the Cowboys have also been holding their cards very close to not let anyone know what they are up to.

Cowboys analysts Bryan Broaddus believes the Cowboys are going to add another piece to their backfield. He also believes that the Cowboys will probably be shopping offensive lineman Ronald Leary.

This is a BS article. They're just trying to recycle something from Broaddus in an attempt to get web hits.

I like that Forte excels as a receiver but his cap hit and cost is a no go for me.
There's good enough guys in FA that would be better value. Besides, would be dumb to trade Leary now.

I have no interest trading for Forte or any other back, roll with what's on the roster, that's what mini camp and training camp is for, if nothing is working out, they're going to be plenty to choose from via the waiver wire in late August..

Consider the source...Broaddus....he has his time where he is right and makes sense. but most of the time he seems way off base. IMO anyway.
They need stuff to write and talk about...so what better than the RB situation....so it gives us stuff to post about...LOL...but that is what we are here for.

Now Jerry says they will not trade OL depth...but those are just words. If the right offer comes up then they have to listen. I do not see giving up OL depth, a big strength of the team. And is dependent upon the success of the running game. For an aging RB....if they were to trade Leary...there is only one RB to consider trading him for.

No thanks, not a fan of most RB's in the NFL for our team, AP or nothing for me, as we can run with who we have and still be alright.
