Give them Randle and Leary.

NO No No No! what the cowboys need to do is slow down and stop listening to the critics of their decision not to draft a RB. Forte is almost 30 years old. and he is in decline. they need to go with the RB they have, and stop acting like they are desperate. because when you are desperate, you end up making bad deals. if RB is that important to them. they should have paid Murray. they are the ones that are saying anyone can run behind this line. either. they believe that or they don't.

Good player but he's 30 and the only 30 year old RB in the history of the game that I would want at 30 is Peterson.

My thought on Forte is this:

Can you rely on him when it is 3rd and 1 or 2?

The Cowboys have running backs with breakaway speed. They need a bruiser. The ideal back would have been Mark Ingram - but the Saints signed him before Jerry could go get him.

They need to just slow down down. and stop acting so desperate.

Desperate would be giving up the house for a player, if we got him for a reasonable price, that would not be desperate; it would be a good deal for both teams. That is all.

Matt Forte is the most Murray-like in the league. From the running and catching ability, he would fit perfectly in our offense.

And my goodness people, Matt Forte is no better than what we have now?

He had over 1,000 yards rushing last year, 100 freakin receptions for nearly 900 yards. And this isn't an upgrade?

Yeah, some of you are going into crazy land now and buying into the crap talk from Jerry.

Matt Forte has 5 out 7 seasons over a 1000+ yards the other 2 almost a 1000 yds

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FortMa00.htm

I really liked him when he came out

would not give to much for him

AND THIS IS Broaddus " HERE SAY "

plus he never gives a reason for me to believe it when he gives names of three other players

I will wait until it happens

Would not want Forte for $7 million one even for much less. We could have just give Murray his $8 million. I'm all for AD for a 1st or Miller/Davis for a mid round pick. I wouldn't trade Leary for a RB. I may be willing to trade him later for a pick if it looks like the OL will be just fine without him. Injuries can happen at any time and I'd like to keep that OL depth for as long as possible.

Not a fan of Forte at all

Hes a great pass catcher, other than that not an elite runner. Another average back at running the ball with a high profile, just like Murray. No thanks

Unless we plan on passing to him 70% of the time. Nah

I'd be willing to give the Bears an 8th rd draft pick for Forte as long as they pay half his salary

First off the Cowboys would need to clear enough space to accommodate Forte's base pay of $7 mil this season.

Then you have Fort's performance...

The guy is a decent back but he's no great shakes.

Lifetime 4.2 YPC average.

Last year he averaged 3.9 YPC on the season and his longest run from scrimmage was a whopping 32 yards.

On top of that he's 29 years old.

Given that they are the same age, I'd take Chris Johnson over Forte. Wouldn't cost a draft pick and the salary is much more palatable.

I agree with you. I don't know if 3.9 is a sign that he's headed downhill, but for what it would cost to acquire him and pay him, I'm not all that interested in trading for him. He did average 4.6 YPC the previous year, but RBs can hit that wall pretty fast.

I'm only interested in trading for a young, proven talent or a special talent. Beyond that, just add a veteran like Johnson.

Never been a big fan of Forte and never liked Chris Johnson. Johnson USED to be good. Give me AP or roll with what we have and if doesn't work, then pick someone up.....

I am not trading Leary who is a starter on the best offensive line in football for Forte straight up. The Bears will have to throw in more on their side of the deal.

Forte is a top 5 back.

Everyone wants a new RB but you look around at the big names and its a bunch of meh.

I would love Jamaal Charles or Leveon Bell, but everyone else, besides AD, is a bunch of meh.

This is such a misleading and horrible article. The are taking 1 person's speculation and casting it as fact.

So we're not going to re-sign the reigning NFL offensive MVP $8M year, which we could even lower the cap hit for by spreading the money out over a number of years, yet we are going to take on Matt Forte's $7M cap hit and then lose him to free agency at the end of the year?

I feel the same
Loved forte when he came out but just not willing to give up much for an aging RB
And Leary is a valuable backup if a guard gets injured

Our OL won't be an upgrade if we traded Leary for him. Our backup OL would be pathetic. Bernadeau, with a few unproven rookies, and some other camp bodies. That's it.
