I think the housecleaning done by Dallas gets misinterpreted.
Jerry Jones did not get rid of players who simply had trouble with the law (see the signing of Gerald Sensabaugh), he got rid of players whose attitudes were troubling to the team.
The idea was to change the atmosphere by letting those who were not good team players go.
'six, I must bow before your infinite wisdom.
You have been brilliant in this thread.
First, in clarifying Jones' transgressions, and second in further clarifying the cleanup job that Jerry Jones has done within this organization.
It hasn't been about cleaning up the off-field issues, otherwise Owens would still be here, along with Ellis.
It's been about creating a better locker room.
And that's never been one of Matt Jones' issues.
In fact, the guy wouldn't say $#!* if he had a mouthful.
Jones' problems included not working hard enough, followed by the cocaine arrest.
Judging by last season's production, he's moved on from the lazy stage. And he knows better than anyone that his next mistake is his last. It seemed to motivate him last year, and should do the same thing this season.
Taking a look at this team's current receiving corps, I would take the chance and sign him before someone else does.
