2014 - Manziel's on the board. Romo's two years younger with 6 or 7 years to play going by the team's recently sworn oath. Stephen has to half nelson Jerry into taking Martin instead. Jerry tells Stephen immediately afterward this is what losers do.

2016 - Sitting at 4. 3 QBs who could literally contract MS and have a better NFL future than Manziel are in the class. "Romo's got 4 or 5 more years, we will make all draft decisions accordingly, QB is not a priority and that's not a damn debate, guys."

Go Cowboys.

You forgot the added back injury in an offseason and another broken collar bone after we passed on Johnny Football.

Don't see it. No way he makes it out of the 1st round imo. I still think he goes top 20, but at worst a team like Arizona would scoop him up quickly towards the end of the 1st. Palmer is aging quickly and Bruce Arians loves big, strong-armed QB's.

I tend to agree. That just appears to be the way the winds are blowing for him lately. Stock is dropping. But all the way out of the first? I dunno. It happens though.

We don't need much of a crystal ball to tell us Jerry is not planning on taking a QB in the first, so it's worth keeping an eye on. A lot of us penciled him in a month ago for our pick at 4.

You might as well not even look at the draft order. If he makes it past the Rams, a lot of teams are in play for a trade up.

You are correct. When I hear Stephen talk I get hopeful. He's saying all the right things. Then Jerry talks and ruins all the feel good.

But I just can not see how any sane individual can rationalize being okay with Manziel in the 1st two years ago but taking a QB this year isn't an option with Romo still having years left.

Maybe the Browns like Lynch and decide they're going to go a different direction at 2 and work on getting back into the round for Lynch.

Could happen. Probably won't happen but it could and it would give the draft it's first whooooa moment when the 2nd pick isn't a QB.

And that sound you would hear echoing from a basement in Eastern, Pa. could best be described as a girlish squeal.

Prescott looked pretty good in the senior bowl. Maybe that's what swayed then he would be worth a 3rd rounder.

He's looked good his whole career in college if people saw past their myopia about draft prospects.

Not ours, Ozzie. He'll just find one when it's appropriate. Just in the nick of time. What could possibly go wrong?

Listen I know our Owner/GM/Head Coach/Trainer/PR Man/Doctor is a first ballot hall of fame idiot with his own designated wing when it comes to football but when he doesn't do the right thing and draft Carson of Bismarck at 1, I would love to hear his nonsensical response as to why he was ready to draft a QB two years ago when that fraud Manziel was there but not ready now with he who was foretold to us.

Not to understand the logic but to laugh at the attempt at it.

While listening to his explanation, I'm sure my Jerry Jones Decoder Ring would start smoking.

Im still waiting for Jones to come out and say " Romo still has a thousand million years left"

I have an inkling Lynch winds up our guy at 4 over Goff

That would be interesting for sure. Are you basing that "inkling" on anything documented or just a hunch? Not looking to through darts or criticize, I am genuinely interested.

This continual Prescott noise is beginning to concern me.

My worst case is passing on QB in the first and then taking one of the 2nd tier QB's on day 2, but I think it'll happen. Browns take Wentz and we'll claim we didn't like Goff at 4 and couldn't trade down. Then we'll take Prescott at the top of the 3rd or pull a QC move and trade up into the bottom of the 2nd to nab him so we don't miss out on this 'incredible' talent.

It's a deep draft but we'll probably waste a high 2nd or 3rd rounder on an, at best, career backup. If not Prescott, then either Cook or Hackensack :banghead:

I would say a mix of both documented and hunches. We have showed a preliminary interest by interviewing him at the combine. So it seems he is on our radar to some extent. Lynch probably has more raw talent then even Wentz and he has a very rare skill for QB prospects being able to throw the ball with great velocity and touch. I think they have eyes for Wentz, but feel Lynch will grade very for them as well. Maybe even comparably high considering they dont have the need to rush a QB into the lineup and can work to improve his footwork in practice and not in games

Big picture I prefer him. But this non sense about him at 34 is maddening. People forgetting Locker and Ponder in round one a few years ago, both absolute stiffs that everybody knew couldnt play, and people really think Lynch lasts to34? Really?
