99 bucks for a boxing match?!?!? yeesh!

I am planning (hoping) to move that weekend from an apartment to a house so I honestly may not even have my cable installed yet. I wonder if they're showing it at WinStar....

I'll be honest I'm with Risen here on the hype now.

I just don't get it.

I will still probably watch it, as it's the only boxing match that has even remotely interested me in 10 years, but it's 3-4 years too late. I don't really care about it now, like I would have.

I also don't get why Floyd even wants to bother with it at this point. He has everything to lose and absolutely nothing to gain from this. If he wins, big deal, Manny has been defeated 2 or 3 (I forget now how many it is) already and has been knocked out. So now it's pretty much expected if you're Floyd that you should just beat this guy.

If he loses...well now he's lost to a guy whose lost 2 or 3 fights against lesser competition than Floyd and it just doesn't do anything for him.

doesnt matter...floyd will run around the ring as usual and will win in a decision...pac just doesnt have anything physically left to compete.

If the fight seems like it's risky, I am referring to during the fight, Mayweather will...

I think Floyd sees the same thing. Manny has declined. He should win pretty easily, and if not his payday is big enough to set him at ease.

$120 million - Mayweather
$80 million - Pacquiao

$50 million for this and that... And this guy and the other guy

True.

The boxing fan in me sees Mayweather and his greatness.

The fan in me wants pacquiao to win. I don't see it happening.

It is curious that Mayweathers camp is paying sparring partners MORE to stay home than spar with manny.

This will be anticlimactic. Mayweather dominates an uneventful unanimous decision. Winning at least 10 of the 12 rounds.

I never got the Pacquiao hype. This is a guy who struggles to beat Marquez. Mayweather treated Marquez like he didn't even belong in the ring with him. This isn't close.

its size difference. Mayweather is far bigger than marquez. Marquez had to gain bad weight for the mayweather fight.

Pacman has proven he could gain weight a lot better than Marquez ( see vs Bradley) .

Paquioa appeals to the average boxing fan because of his aggressive style. I respect Mayweathers skills but for the average fan most of his fight have been snoozers . I can only watch someone stick and run so much.

Mayweather has gone on the assault in his last 6-8 fights. Literally pounded the stuffing out of his opponents.

Eh , we all see things differently . Not my style of fighter . He's a great pure boxer but , I like brawlers .

It's cool. For the most part you are right.

But... He has gone on the attack a little more than his earlier days. That's why I think he was taking steroids.

Get a group of 10 people to throw down on it.

Such a disappointment. The elements which existed that made this fight a "must see", no longer existed last night.
Hearing Floyd speak about Manny like he was an ordinary opponent, pedestrian, put things into perspective....
Floyd has never fought an elite fighter during their prime. 47 times it was timing, just missing fighters in their prime, or fighting guys who were never elite, unavoidable. This one was avoidable.

We were robbed of what these two truly had to offer by politics, money, & time. Floyd will never have that Hagler, Pryor, Lenard, Ali, or Whitaker to fight, a hated foe, an adversary to gage his greatness.

I hope he fights Keith Thurman next, the one individual I feel could defeat him, or at least stir up the feelings that made me fall in love with boxing long ago.... Unfortunately "Money" is close to retiring, so a him and Thurman may be just two ships passing in the night.

The fight went exactly as I expected. A Mayweather dominating 118-110ish unanimous decision that leaves people disappointed in the fight.

Manny isn't on Floyd's level. I'll never understand why people wanted to see that fight so badly for so many years.

Maybe you're right, but it was obvious last night that Manny was a shell of himself. We did not see the best of what these two had to offer. That ship sailed 5 years ago.

I don't see it that way. I think Manny on his best day would have looked the same against Floyd. Mayweather makes fighters look bad.

Both of these fighters are past their prime. It's not like Floyd is in his 20s.
