I wasn't too excited by the Mazi pick, but I got the thought process of picking him.

1. Mazi needed to work on his game if you watched his college tape, so there's going to be an adjust period...he has to develop.

2. Expectations for Mazi was out of wack imo. I always thought of Mazi as a Carlos Watkins replacement, not a guy who's going to start over Big Hank or Osa. If you look at him as a rotational 1T/3T guy you may not be as disappointed.
He needs to shut his mouth with all the tough talk, us cowboys fans are vulnerable! We haven't draft a DT since Maryland

Why would you draft a developmental player with your #1 pick when there were at least a half dozen probable starters sitting there especially on the OL. Doesn't make sense to me. They do this every couple years, picks like Taco. Guys that have "potential" with the #1 pick. Very lame. I hope he gets better obviously but I am a little worried. Doesn't look like a #1 talent.

I remember the complaints about 75 OSA his rookie yr. Can we wait until the team banquet before the season opener before all hope is lost .

There's going to be a lot of complaints when your #1 pick doesn't look like a #1 level talent.

He wasn't very good in his 2nd year either. People were calling him a bust.

Revisionist history. He was very good in his 2nd season. 7 sacks, 14 QB hits, 55 tackles in 13 games. We haven't had a DT do anything resembling that in years.

Towards the end of the 2nd year. I don't watch many Jets games, but I do listen to the NY radio stations. Fans wanted him traded in his 2nd season. I don't know at what point in his 2nd season he came on.

Let’s revisit this when Mazi is on the bench for the majority of 2023.
with Hankins being the number 1, and Mazi getting 1/3 of the snaps, that’s not even a bad thing either. He will learn and over the next 10-12 weeks get better. Still won’t be a bust.

Seattle has a good offensive line and Mazi did play against their starters. He will be fine in the starting defense.
Exactly. Let’s see what happens when the starters are in. Micah, Dlaw, etc. offenses have to account for Micah first and foremost. Then Dlaw , Sam and the rest Give the guy a little time.

Mazi has in my opinion looked awful in both preseason games. For all the touting his size, strength, and so on just dont see it here. He is pushed around willy nilly on the line and dont believe this is befitting a first round draft pick. I am predicting a bust of Taco proportions here. Just one of the worst pics in Cowboys history. And now with the possibility of Overshown being gone for the season a disastrous 2023 draft. We cannot get to the next level with misses like these and that has been the history in Dallas.
The season has not even started guys chill out smh

There’s been little talk about him in camp and he’s been so disappointing in preseason, I’m just hoping he becomes serviceable. Currently he has bust written all over.

Let's trade him while we have the leverage...

Mazi doesn’t look the part but 3 weeks into his first camp ever, pretty big stretch to say it’s over for him lmao

The way he’s looked, we would be lucky to get a third round pick for him. Lol I don’t remember Taco looking this bad. The quickest I can remember a team giving up on a first round draft pick was the Steelers unloading Huey Richardson, during his second year in 92. He was a major bust only playing two seasons.
