You seem to care more about Dak and his leg than you do advancing in the playoffs.

I care that coaches are smarter than you, McCarthy has said they will look to use Dak ability to run after a year removed from a devastating injury, not my job to care about players but it is his.

I really do not buy shirts, the couple I have with are dress shirt I wear and frankly no one laughs then again I have many friends who are Cowboys fans as well.

Don’t know why you’re being obtuse about this it’s pretty obvious why they didn’t try to push it last year. Dude was uncomfortable running any more than he needed to. Players are humans they have health to worry about.

No coaching staff should put vulnerable players in a position to get hurt. You can argue “he shouldn’t have played if he couldn’t run” all you want but it led to a 12-5 season so obviously he was at a point where he could play enough to win games. The threshold wasn’t broken to use his full athletic potential recovering from such a devastating injury.

I get that you’re super critical of the team but sometimes it seems like you complain just to complain. No team would’ve emphasized Dak as a runner fresh off that kind of injury.

I agree it comes down to what they do not what they say. Last year they came out and said they did not want Dak running and plays where seldom called for Dak to run. We will see what they do this season in terms of designed runs off the RPO they may bring back to the table

Gotta disagree with ya - and we think a lot alike on things with this team. No way was he healed enough to task him any more than they did regarding play calls. Most of his running was reflexive due to scrambling in the pocket. There were numerous times he could have and should have taken off but didn’t. His foot was turned around like Hurns’ was. Would you want to risk it less than a year later? Nah.

I guess growing up here and all of our families all growing up here we have nothing but Cowboy fans . We all critique and complain about them too.

Now we have some interesting rivalries in College Football as most of us attended different schools but in my 60+ years I’ve never had to watch a Cowboy game on TV with an opposing fan. Not sure I’d want to.

We should know real soon in the season if McCarthy is serious or not.

In the playoffs? Absolutely you risk it. You've played an entire season on that ankle.

You do whatever it takes to advance at that point. You don't take the playoffs for granted. Dak may never see the playoffs again. There are no guarantees in this game and you have to seize every chance you get.

I’m not excusing his play because of his injuries, I’m just saying an injury that severe coupled with another injury due to the original one (not to mention an oblique on the same side in TC) shows that the healing wasn’t done completely and stress on that leg could cause other muscles to strain.

Dak was more susceptible to leg injuries within the first season back. The cut-off of this susceptibility isn’t up to you, it’s up to the players body.

I get the sacrifice everything for a playoff win thing but the guy was barely “back” from his calf. Based on how his leg was handling the strain of the season he was likely to get injured again if he put excessive stress on his leg.

Now a full 2 years out and a normal non-rehab based offseason, it makes more sense to lean on his legs more as they’ve had ample time to return to normal.

Again, it's the playoffs, some guys will do whatever it takes to win and others won't.

We seem to have a guy that makes business decisions instead.

If Dak never sees the playoffs again in his career then I'm sure he'll be just fine living with not doing all he could do. He don't strike me as one of those "win at all costs" type of guy.

Yeah, he is the franchise QB regardless of the opinion of fans. They knew the situation last year with Dak going through rehab and we unwilling to have him run or design plays for Dak to run. This season Dak is in full football mode

Would love to see the transition, like an old transmission finally shifting out of third gear, but my elevated expectations come from 1-3 year players, with ceiling still obtainable.
I am being honest with you that I dont feel that Dak will ever be any better than what he has already proven to be.
Thats a mediocre average ceiling that has already been hit.

He hopes? How many HC's say they "hope" his QB has more run plays? This is the same man that said he was going to be more involved in the offense.

I would say telling the OC to increase the movement throws and run plays for the QB would be more involved with the offense.

One thing Prescott does exceptionally well, and doesn't seem to get enough credit here, is throw on the run and particularly moving to his left, the most difficult throw for a right handed QB. He and Mahomes are the two best in the league with that throw. They can both shift their body weight while going airborne and get some zip on that pass.

Even at Miss ST, when AL, AU or LSU would face him, they did not want him out of that pocket where he could be a dual threat.
