Micah is a great player, but what exactly is he great at? What does he need to work on to be elite?

Too one-dimensional. If we know the other team is passing, obviously he's a great rusher. But he needs to be better at playing the run and just executing his assignment when he's not just being turned loose to rush the QB. We've heard him in those Sounds from the Sidelines saying things like, "Time to get paid!" late in games when we have a big lead and everyone is just trying to get their sack numbers up.

And IMO along with that, he needs to be in the team weight room in the offseason, not doing his own thing in Austin or wherever. I don't really like his losing weight the way he did. He should be 260 or so by now from where he came into the league instead of trimming down just so he's a little faster in the pass rush. I think that's part of Jerry's bad culture -- if you're talented enough, you can do whatever you want.

In short, be better at the dirty work, not just the glory stuff.

Well, if you asked me a couple weeks ago I would have said, I want a giant pocket crushing defensive tackle, so that Overshown and Parsons could just wreak havoc. But that's changed now.
Honestly, if we could still get 2 number 1s for Parsons today. I think could be the second biggest move in franchise history. Grab a QB this year or next and build the lines.
Championship oh heck Super Bowl!

Honestly, I could care less about his elite speed. He is not the game disruptor that Charles Haley was. I want the psycho who wears down opponents, not the one who looks like he needs an oxygen mask during games.

He's a speed rusher, gives OT's fits, makes you want to know where he is all the time. Those great things I mentioned are they things he continues to excel at, or are we giving him a pass from years past? I mentioned you must know here he's at at all times, but he mainly lines up at the same place all the time. Back in the day, guys excelled coming from the same place, now days it seems that guys are given more leeway to move around to find the best matchup. I'm sure they did the same at times back in the day. With that said, what would make Micah elite, does he make enough elite plays for you? I don't care about the money he's going to get, i'm focusing on his play, and the title that many give him.

I for one am proud of what he's done in the past, I just feel that he could give us more. It was mentioned that Zimmer wants him to move around more, but during the game they said he likes to rush from that one side. Coming from the same side every play makes it easy for teams to know where you are. At that point that's when you see the huffing and puffing from taking a beating because you're easily located. Not trying to bash Micah at all, I just want a little bit more out of our top defender, if he's actually that anymore?? Please give your thoughts
I've never seen a so-called Super Star take himself out of the game soooooooooooooo much when the game is on the line. To make the game more entertaining the network showing the game should have the viewers at home play a game called " Where's Micah" when the game is on the line. How much fun would that be when the camera shot looks into the million-dollar suites and Parsons is sitting next to Jerry sucking on a beer as the clock hits the "2 minute warning" or when there is less than 2 minutes in the game and the Cowboy opponent has the ball and it's 3rd and 15 to go and Micah is nowhere to be found because HE's tired and needs a blow. It's almost comical to see the dude taking a knee looking all defeated when the score is tied, and the Cowboys desperately needs a stop on 3rd and long to get the ball back and the announcers are playing "Where's Micah" because he not out there when his mates need him most. Parsons needs to watch film from a Steeler or Cleveland game, their stud DE's are sucking it up and still on the field when the game means the most.

Easily the best post you've ever listed on this site!!!!!!!!!! It's even worse when he's on the field on 3rd and long and he's in the game and doesn't get a stop, yet they're hyping him up saying YOU BETTER KNOW THERE MICAH PARSONS is!! Lol yeah ok

He needs to get better at making friends with the refs so they call all the holds.

It won't work. If he had a different sticker on the helmet he would get the calls. It's all about the sticker on the helmet when it comes to NFL ref culture.

No team is going to offer anything in trade for Micah Parsons. He will not play for the Cowboys next season until he gets an extension he considers appropriate. Jerry Jones will pay him a lot of money. Whatever else Micah may be, he’s a Cowboys player for the rest of his career.

If the team continues to struggle, and i have a feeling it might, it will change the vibe especially if Zimmer moves Micah inside. It's going to be a interesting 4 games.
IF we lose this week the wheels will begin to fall off. Jerry will lose control of the narrative.

I think Micah is an elite pass rusher who can be a game changer when the opponents are in passing mode as dictated by down and distance. However, with that being said, he is a non-factor in the run defense has teams scheme to run away from him; and in critical situations you often see him on the sideline out of breath.
He will get paid for sure and as a pass rusher deserves the money; but he is needs to improve the rest of his game if he wants to be one of the NFL’s greatest.
If Dallas had a competent GM, I could see Micah being traded for multiple picks while his value is high to facilitate a rebuilding of the team. Since Dallas is not active in free agency and prefers to build through the draft, one would think draft capital would be a commodity.
But Jerry will sign him to a mega-deal and Micah will be moved to the inside, where his strengths will be negated and chance of injury increases.

He'll be fine, as long as he doesn't start to and continually ask people to "please share your thoughts" on his podcast.
