Defenders in favor of holding being called. Shocking! Lol. Again, people are trying to call something holding based on a still picture. Can't do that. Same with PI. Gotta see the video to make any kind of determination, especially with wording in the rule like "material restriction." This implies that some restriction will be allowable. Can't see that with a still picture but it works if you only want to see it one way. Surely that's not happening here. Oh heaven's no.

Its not just the Rams game. He has been being held all season. He is too fast and his first step usually beats the OL every time. If they just let Micah play he would probably have 3-4 sacks a game. And I aint exaggerating.

Lol. Yes you are.

Read the posts made earlier referencing the rip move exception in the rulebook.
Troy went off last night because the refs didn't call an obvious hold on Chris Jones who used the rip move. I guess the play by play guy isnt familiar with the rules either?

Also has anyone verified by video that in the photo MIcah posted he used the rip move? He was getting mugged on every pass rush and I find it hard to believe every single time he was using a rip move.

Maybe a bit lol but reality is Micah gets held. A LOT!

Also not surprised you are here defending the officials lol.

Go watch the film. Micah is held multiple times a game to the point where he has a lineman's arm around his neck.

No. How about you people lobbying accusations actually produce film to show your case and explain why something is holding according to the rules? My contention is that most of you don't even know the rules you're railing against. It's the same as the catch rule all over again. It's unreal that there's a 6-page thread talking about holding based on a still picture when there's no way in Hades you can tell if holding is happening without motion. The very definition of bias, yet accusing refs of bias. Lol. There's motion going on alright: E-motion

I watch the games. Its there for you to see.

You love defending officials yet always ask other people to provide film. I watched that play in real time. It was a hold. When the defender is already past the RT and he wraps his arm around his neck. Its holding. Regardless of you opinion of the rules.

Can't blame Micah. He was literally being held so many times against the Rams, yet the officials hardly threw any flags on them Rams linemen for holding. These holds might even have contributed to Micah injuring his groin.

Does Micah have a case to call out the Refs, or does he simply need to be quiet?

It’s called “Kayfabe.”

It’s funny how there has been no official rule change since Tua was concussed, but magically and free of any collusion between the NFL Rules committee and NFL Refs, somehow the refs are now interpreting the way roughing the quarterback is being called….as well as the “full weight” ridiculousness

The officiating has been and will continue to be biased towards certain players and certain teams. It’s run by the NFL marketing division as well as used to settle grudges as well as support team owners that fall lockstep with the NFLs wishes.

The NFL has a great game but it’s run by overreactive, vindictive, and petty little people.

its one of the 3 main penalties used to control NFL games.

holding ( both off and def)

pass int

roughing.

And i'll add holding on the defense during a field goal attempt which magically appeared last night for the first time since 2015.

Essentially they have so many subjective rules that they can call literally anything.

Why do people need to go into the damn production room to prove what they already see with their own eyes. I don't need video to know that if one person's jersey is being pulled and the other guy's hand is on it that it's holding. You watched VIDEO during the game and claim you didn't see holding. Now you want MORE video from 10 different angles to convince you.. which we all know will never happen anyway.. God bless anybody who wastes time on that project.

Of course he has a case, but if he makes too much noise, he’ll be marked. Kinda like what’s going on in other areas now, all across the nation. Don’t tell the emperor he’s wearing no clothes.

I saw another play just like this one. Arm around his neck and in the replay it was clear but the talking heads said nothing about it.

A single photo does not tell the story, but this sure looks like holding. However, the rules do allow for an offensive lineman to wrap his arm around a pass rusher this way if the block began as a legal block and the defensive player twisted or turned so that the offenders arm wound up in this position. The offensive player is supposed to let go or it is holding. We cannot tell from the picture how the block started or if the offensive lineman let go.

However, it does appear to me that a lot of holding they used to call is not getting called this year. I wonder if they are tolerating more holding to further protect QBs. It seems like the only holding they call now is when an offensive lineman literally tackles a pass rusher or if he holds the defensive player from moving sideways to pursue an outside run.

Did Parsons use a rip move? Cause it's in the rules for the very reason of causing and OL's arm to go up around a defender's neck and why it's an exception unless the defender is taken to the ground.

They made the same exact call against the Cowboys in Seattle a couple years ago, and no one said anything, other than call those of us who complained crybabies, so anyone upset by this can kick rocks as far as I'm concerned. Cry me a river. Maybe if they had complained when they did it to the Cowboys it would be different now.
