Micah Parsons is not going to win DPOY

Last I looked Micah was 12th on the stats sheet, not counting this past bye week...

If you think sacks are the only way to measure a pass rusher's worth you are totally missing the point.

Parsons is top three in pressures, meaning he's affecting the quarterback all game long. He's forcing offenses to change their blocking schemes to keep two, sometimes three players on him all game long to prevent him from wrecking their gameplan.

Scouting from a stat sheet is one of the worst mistakes a fan can make.

As long as Parsons is getting double and triple teamed he has no chance. Right now I would say Garrett is the favorite to win it.

If you notice Haason Reddick usually draws a TE and sometimes no one at all. You never see a TE try to block Parsons unless he has help from an OT or OG. And Parsons is never allowed to rush unblocked. Not taking anything away from Reddick or TJ Watt but those guys don't have to deal with what Micah has to deal with.

I think our defense would be better if we stopped trying to pad his stats.

Parsons isn't Garrett, Watt or Bosa, but he is a chess piece..us playing him on the d-line makes our overall defense worse.

Miles Garrett blocks a field goal and sacks the passer - that is DPOY. But just lining up and trying to run up the sack meter isn't going to get it done. And Micah has MUCH MUCH more ability.

Do you want Micah to be a football player or a specialist? I'd rather get a complete football player.

I feel like Parsons is currently leading in odds because he simply has the best PR agent.

Dude is a gamer that makes some freak plays, but Garrett and Watt affect games in so many different ways. Watt dropped back into coverage yesterday and picked off Stafford. He has more sacks, forced fumbles, and recovered fumbles. The Micah slobberers can spout off advanced metrics like pass rush win rate all they want, but the eye test stands true here for me that Micah likely is the runner up again. All that being said, I am not completely in love with the ways that Quinn always uses him.

We also play some very pass happy offenses the next 5 weeks, so maybe he'll go nuts and gets his sacks. I hope so.

Micah is a beast... He is double and triple teamed, and held constantly. Because they have to do that to stop him.

The real problem is... when they are double and triple teaming him, we should have more sacks from everyone else

I agree he prob won’t win dpoy right now. One because if he keeps getting doubled he won’t have the stats… and two he picked a fight with the media.

That being said he’s runner up almost every year and he’s on pace to become a hall of famer. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Did they give him better opportunities to succeed in his pass rush compared to the other D-linemen?

The only ones that have been responsible for padding Parson's stats are the Cowboys opponents. I don't think it's deliberate.
