Michael Jackson dead from Cardiac Arrest...*Confirmed*

RIP Michael. Though I wasn't a fan of your later efforts, I'll always remember you fondly. Your collaborations with Quincy Jones set the standard for pop music.

Well, for those of us who are getting a bit older, this day certainly brings our own mortality home.

I said earlier that many of the younger posters would probably not understand why Farrah was so revered and this probably goes double for Michael Jackson.

Most of the younger members probably only remember the bad press, the horrible plastic surgery and the bazaar behavior of Michael Jackson in his later years, reduced to the butt of everybodies bad joke, but when I say that he was probably the most talented performer I've ever seen, I say it with a very wide margin between whomever might be considered next best. Even Elvis was not, IMO, as talented as Michael was. Seriously, Michael Jackson was unreal, even at a very early age.

This is the Michael Jackson many of us remember. This young man was simply put, an exception to the human race. One we may never see the likes of again. The later years were even that much more painful to watch.

I guess the moral of the story of Ikarus is true. I can remember nobody who has flown so high with such devastating effects.

A sad statement to the life of Michael Jackson but I'm almost certain that he is better off for the tragic events that have just taken place.

RIP Michael Jackson

Al Sharpton now hoding a press conference on MJ's death. :bang2:

EDIT: I don't know why I listen to ANYTHING this moron says. It was mostly all about AL. I did this and I did that and I knew this guy and that guy. God, what a schmuck!

That's a matter of opinion. The white jumpsuits and big bell bottoms were not signs of a normal man.. lol

All the negative stuff aside. I really liked him. An amazing talent.

The Thriller Dance - A classic.

:beatit:

In other news
This just in: CNN still has not confirmed the story. Newspapers have failed to adapt and TV is slow to follow.

TMZ is kicking traditional media's butt.

They were in the 70s.

I remember the day I first heard Michael Jackson at my friend's house. She was playing the Thriller album.

It was totally different that anything I had heard previously. One song after another, amazing. After that, I was definitely a big fan of his music and his amazing talent as a performer.

The last several years he has looked terrible, not only because of the plastic surgery, but fragile in general.

What a sad, sad end. I pray he is at peace.

I remember Mike coming on the scene when I was a kid. H e was the rage,
The kid could just flat out dance. Everyone back in the days use to copy his moves. I remember watching his cartoons on tv when i was a kid every saturday morning. when i was old enough to hit the clubs back in the late 70's and early 80's every weekend the dance floors would get packed when his songs got played. Just a couple of weeks ago i turned the channel to bet and there was a clip of james brown singing and going down to his knees waiting for a member to put his famous trademark robe on and who comes out and on to the stage and put it on him Michael Jackson. and thenhe did the jame brown dance. james was thrilled. what great memories. RIP MIKE.

He just turned fat and sloppy and a drug addict instead. Give me a break.

I was never a big fan of his music, but I know the world lost a music icon today. May he RIP.

To this day, I believe his best album was Off The Wall. I can remember as a kid dancing to that Album for hours. In those days, you would have school dances and that Album would get worn out. Everybody would dance. Didn't matter what color you were or even if you could dance at all. That may sound like a strange statement but in those days, it was a bit different then it is today.

Wow. I haven't thought about that in years.

Damn shame at 50.

Yeah me too and it probably would have been bigger than Thriller but they didn't make videos when Off the Wall came out like they did when Thriller came.

My friend told me they're playing all his videos on MTV.

Old footage even from Jackson 5

I remember watching the video for Billy Jean on Friday Night Videos. He was so cool.
