Maaan give me Norv as OC and Marinelli as DC any day of the week.
He also said some in VR would like to replace Callahan with Norv Turner now that he is free. Fisher said Garrett sees Norv as a father figure. Pollack would then be promoted to the oline coach.
So many conspiracy theories...what idiotic reason would a head coach lie about who is calling the plays when everyone on the coaching staff, the owner, and the players all know who is calling the plays.
The whole idea that Garrett is lying about who is calling the plays is just so ridiculous. What is the reason or benefit of such a lie? He certainly would have lost the players' respect.
I could live with this and a DC change. Don't let Pollack go! It just seems that, since he has been with us, that zone blocking scheme has really paid dividends. Please keep him around.
I'm not so sure Garrett would want Norv. You don't hire Norv unless you're going to let him call plays, and Garrett obviously wants to do that himself.

I'm really not sure how much of that is him or Callahan. Callahan started implementing the scheme last year and the players seemed to finally be comfortable in it this year.
When Pollack tried to implement zone-blocking in Oakland, he failed miserably.
Of course, now that it's in place (if it stays in place if Callahan leaves), Pollack probably can maintain it.
JG and Norv are very close and I believe he would trust Norv and respects his work. I don't think he would have a issue with Norv calling the plays at all, he knows Norv is one of the best at it. Their history together would go a long way in solidifying their working relationship.
To add... Norv would run the ball and "stick to the plan" because he trusts his plan.
By *every* account, Garrett was very unhappy about Jerry taking his playcalling away.I don't think that's the case. I don't think Garrett would have cared about the play-calling if Callahan had been succeeding at it.
Dallas (meaning Jerry) might decide that it prefers for Garrett to continue as a walk-around coach and let someone else call the plays.
Garrett is better at calling plays than Callahan (who is nothing more than a line coach and good one at that).[/qu]
I agree!!! JG is much better then Callahan at calling plays. When JG was calling plays is problem was the oline wasn't any good, they're much better now. JG wasn't the problem his oline was.
I think if he didn't like the play sent in, he over ruled it using his HC authorityI think there is some grey area there. I don't believe Garrett was calling all of the plays, but I do believe he took control of the wheel when he pleased. Such a weird situation... Turner would be nice b/c at least that would bring in someone that Garrett has 110% trust in to run the offense and wouldn't butt in as he pleased.
