Or, it is what it isn't. The guy played straight through is first four and 3/4 seasons without missing a singe game. Then had two years where he missed time due to a specific set of injuries. That doesn't meet my definition of 'prone', but he's clearly working through specific injury problems. Another plagued season and I'd agree that his problems appear to be chronic at this level.

Holding him out after a negative MRI in training camp for precautionary reasons doesn't meet the plague standard, though. I would think this is pretty obvious.

don't try to apply logic to illogical people

Keep holding out hope. The guy is getting older and breaking down.He is hurt a lot now I dont care what happened 3 years ago.I wish we would have traded him and got a good solid guy who isnt injured so much NOW.

During the morning practice, the biggest scare of camp so far occurred when right cornerback Mike Jenkins had to be carted off the field with an ankle injury. An MRI showed just a sprain on the lower part of his right ankle. Initially, the Cowboys feared the treacherous high-ankle sprain, but that’s not the case.

Great news.

And on Newman, probably other vets either have similar little strains or will get them the next few days. This is a lot of two-a-days they've gone through. Not a big deal. Frankly, I wouldn't care if he barely got on the field the rest of preseason.

You have no way of knowing if the problems he's had recently are chronic or not. Keep holding out despair. Maybe you'll be right this time and it will make your day.

So playing in 87 out of 96 games is considered injury prone? What is the lable on like 95% of NFL players then?

No Bob, you are confuzing sucks with fragile and undependable.

Remember, you're not "injury-prone" unless you miss actual games, or so I've heard. Just ignore the "injury" part.

I initially was freaked out when I read that he went off the field on a cart but thats not really accurate. He went off the field limping and then they took him from there on a cart.

That puts an entirely different perspective on things. I like them being very conservative when it comes to injuries.

When you miss games or are noticeably less then 100% in games then one can call someone injury prone. Starting 64 straight games kind of shoots that down for Tnew. Until he misses games this year its not an issue.

Great. Newman can be as injury prone as you all want him to be as long as it doesn't affect actual games. So now everybody's happy.

You sure you wanna go on that extremely fragile limb? Players in the NFL get these type of nicks throughout the year. If it doesn't cause him to miss games then the ultimate effect is negligible at best.

So his injuries was "well-timed." Big deal. He's still injury-prone by any rational understanding of the term. Keep spinning.

What possible difference does it make if it doesn't affect games? Is your point that future injuries might affect future games? If so, then, well, point well taken.
