So his injuries was "well-timed." Big deal. He's still injury-prone by any rational understanding of the term. Keep spinning.

LOL! Alot of people here want to conveniently forget all the games he missed in his career were in the last two years. Great he was durable when he was younger, talk to me now.

What possible difference does it make if it doesn't affect games? Is your point that future injuries might affect future games? If so, then, well, point well taken.

None, and we've been fortunate in that regard, but that doesn't give anyone the right to softsoap or censor his injury history. There are functioning alcoholics who drag themselves to work every day and meet expectations, but that doesn't change the fact that they're drunks.

This has been specifically addressed in this thread already. It's a fact that he's missed games the last two years. Nobody disputes that because it's so obvious.

Tom Brady, injury-prone quarteback.

Brett Favre, he was injury prone too. I mean he never missed any games or anything but that's irrelevant, I'm told. He had a busted thumb, elbow shoulder problems back problems even a sprained left knee.

All Bob, BB, and I are saying is that we have the same reaction when we hear about Newman being "rested for precautionary reasons" that everybody else here has when Stanback is in the whirl pool.

Absolutely, especially on the basis of a few posters in this thread.

When has Newman missed the whole season with an injury? Or is it two seasons Stanback has missed?

what is STUPID is comparing Newman to Stanback.

Not talking accomplishments, talking this particualar point in time being fragile and undependable, how is that stupid?

If that's all you're saying, then we're in agreement. You guys all do have that same reaction when you hear about Newman that the rest of us do when we hear about Stanback.

I don't think Newman is fragile and undependable

but how more injuries does one need to sustain to be given that injury-prone label?

Newman has suffered 3 injuries in his career if I'm not mistaken

Lots of whistling past the graveyard here.

Newman has been injured a number of times and played through it. There were years when Newman at 75% was still way better than whatever else we had. He obviously has problems with groin strains. Newman only goes out of games when he thinks that staying in will hurt the team. He's got what you want in good corner and teammate. Doesn't mean he won't get injured more, especially at his age.

Holding him out during preseason make perfect sense. It's not like he needs that many reps to get ready for games.

Newman's career as a Cowboy isn't on the line like Stanback's is. I'd guess that if Newman had to practice to make the team, he'd be out there.

Well at least from what I read on the Cowboys site it doesn't appear that either injury is being viewed as terribly serious. The site said they're calling Jenkins injury day to day.

That sounds pretty good to me.

Why is it we always... always have injury problems at corner. Henry was always injured, same with Newman, etc. etc.
