They are self entitled children being paid 6 figures minimum. Being late to meetings is likely much more common than people credit it for.

Greg Tardy, I mean Hardy probably would have a lot better "numbers" if he got some of RGregory's snaps at RDE.

He had a year off and playing slightly injured in a very conservative defense, without any blitzing..

Take this year away, it's probably a lot higher..

I get that. I'm not saying he isn't a good player -- I was just commenting that I don't think Hardy is really a HOF type of player.

Next year Hardy will be 28 years old entering into his 7th season in the league. He has two seasons with 10+ sacks in his career.

He is a nice player. I have no idea if he can return to the form he played at in 2012 and 2013.

Did anybody see A Football Life with Charles Haley?

It wasn't like he was beloved by everybody in the Cowboys locker room.

The difference is that we had a coach that didn't have a problem dealing with somebody like that because he was the an integral part of the defense. Now we have a coach who can't be bothered to do his job and actually motivate a troubling player and keep peace in the locker room. He's too busy clapping and talking about 'accountability' while he shows ZERO accountability for him and his staff.

No one seems to take in consideration that this is just a strong willed cat that we dealing with. If in his heart he knows he is not the person the media portrays him to be. And he has a coach that is telling him to eat it, just maybe that is the root of his frustration. To my recollection everything was going good until the pictures were released (mind you that validated his story vs hers).

Personally i can't use this year as a barometer to guage a) who he really is and b) what is the full impact of what he can bring to this team.
Good post.

I'm concerned abouted the reported repeated tardiness to meetings and it's supposed effect.

Monday sounds like he's talking out both sides of his neck.

Side piece..never heard any of this carp about my pet Kat.

As has been pointed out, Marinelli changed the line in the second half of the season flipping the DT and having Hayden at the 1 on the traditional weak side. This was also the time when DLaw started breaking out. No football player does everything all himself. Oversimplifying to apply fault and blame is a poor ethic.

As has also been pointed out, Haley had some pretty pedestrian sack totals while he was here. He opened things up for other guys but would end up with 4 sacks.

Your premises are flawed.

Perhaps you should read my post again because that's exactly what I'm trying to point out. Blaming Garrett because Hardy did not turn out the way the team hoped he would is ridiculous. At best, all Garret could have done was bench the guy because of his undisciplined behavior. That would have accomplished nothing except maybe get Jerrah mad.

Bottom line, just like Jimmah Jenius did with Haley ( which was allowing him to do just about whatever he wanted ) Garrett tried to do with Hardy. The difference was that Haley produced ( yes, even by opening things up for Tolbert, and Casillas, and Lett, and Maryland, and Jeffcoat, and even for back ups like Jimmy Jones ) and Hardy did very little.

People have a problem with Mincey's comments, because he flat out said he didn't agree with the decision to bring Hardy here and he understands the game better and is better for the younger guys, despite Hardy being more prolific.. And that they shouldn't have gotten Hardy because allegedly nothing was broke, so they didn't need fixing..

I thought per the members of the Zone, a player is not suppose to vent his frustrations and keep it in-house and sacrifice for the betterment of the team regarding things like playing time and here Mincey is openly doing that and Hardy is the bad guy when Hardy was light years better..

The trait that Mincey is exemplifying would qualify as being a cancer.. He's taking advantage of Hardy's PR image to take jabs at him. He knows Dez comes late to meetings..

We don't have anything to do with what they say to the media and there are no consequences. Some players may like what Mincey said. Others and the coaches/etc may not appreciate it even if they partially or fully agree.

Being late for meetings is something the coach should address. Should a leader of the team bring it up, he should address the player preferably privately. My guess is someone like Witten would be that guy because I get the feeling Hardy isn't just listening to anybody.

Mincey really has no business addressing Hardy thru the media. JMO.

As does Mincey for thinking this was a good idea to put out there.

I mean, for all he knows, he and Hardy could be back with the Cowboys in 2016, and he's here running his trap about Hardy? Good Riddance to Mincey.

Yes, he should have kept it to himself or kept it in house. But I don't think what he said is detrimental. Players are supposed to come to meetings, and that on time.

I love how Mincey says you "don't fix what isn't broken" about the 2014 DL.

That is hilarious and why we end up Hwith ayden every year. We accept good chemistry and try hard guys as successes. They aren't supposed to be friendly guys. They should be nasty with a mean streak.

That group was pathetic and got no pressure but Mincey had a decent year comparatively and I guess that is all that matters.

Greg Hardy can rest peacefully tonight knowing that a legion of white knights wait to charge to his defense against the gold digging women, unscrupulous sensationalist media, unproductive and disloyal teammates, and overly sensitive politically-correct fans who unjustly conspire to tarnish his public image.

The guy was asked about Hardy, It is no secret about hardy as we have been hearing about it from different sources this week.

Now the guy is honest and he gets belittled because his production is not great.

Well...nobody said his production was great.

I guess he could just say no comment when asked about Hardy, but if every player did that, we would never know anything about what goes on behind the scenes.

Or we could chalk it up to a former disgruntled player talking bad about the team...;wait...he is still on the team.

How about we just take the info given and realize there is a problem with Hardy and how others on the team viewed him instead of turning it on the person that said something about it.

I agree, but that stuff should stay in-house, if it were about honesty than I presume Mincey would have no problem with Hardy or another teammate pointing out Mincey registered almost no stats this season.

Are you kidding me?

Steve Young has said that he literally can't tell you Charles Haley stories because they are not fit for TV. Like the time he got so angry at a Defensive Coach that he walked into the coach's office and urinated all over his desk.

Yeah...he didn't have baggage. And I have oceanfront property in Kansas up for sale.

Sorry, YR. But beating a woman up really trumps all that. Unless you support the beating of women, of course.

So is it your position that a person who has no record, served no time should be shunned from their profession for perpetuity? No such thing as rehabilitation, second chance, etc.?

I believe there was one on his Carolina team that made similar comments to what Mincey did, claiming he's an unpredictably moody cuss who flares up for no apparent reason.

It's really common everywhere, really.

I've been late to meetings. My co-workers have been late to meetings.

someone will definitely be late to work tomorrow

Late to meetings is only one piece of the puzzle. It's also the Jekyll/Hyde persona which you point out here.

Exactly - the difference is he was labeling players and believes money changes behavior and it doesn't - you're talking more about everyday life. I bet the ratio is about the same

I don't get how this guy was so loved in Carolina by teammates, yet comes here and all of a sudden it's trouble? I'm not sure how much I'm buying what Mincey is selling.

He has an agenda he basically said they will bring one or the other back and he stated his case for why him over Hardy.

I just can't seem to buy into the fact that he was loved by his teammates in Carolina and yet he comes here and all hell breaks loose

Doesn't matter what you think about your team mates. You are getting paid to perform and that didn't happen. Do your job end of story, if y'all are close then you can still be close but you still need to produce and help win ball games. Stop with blaming someone every year, look in the mirror first
