I don't get how this guy was so loved in Carolina by teammates, yet comes here and all of a sudden it's trouble? I'm not sure how much I'm buying what Mincey is selling.

He has an agenda he basically said they will bring one or the other back and he stated his case for why him over Hardy.

I just can't seem to buy into the fact that he was loved by his teammates in Carolina and yet he comes here and all hell breaks loose

Cris Carter said Hardy had problems in the locker room in Carolina.

Hardy is headcase and frankly did not do much this season. He is a player he should be able to follow the rules of the coaches and get called out when he doesn't.

Is this something you secretly read on Jason's grease board, or did you actually bother watching any of the games last year?

Don't forget the only reason the Cowboys got Charles Haley was because he was a problem in the locker room in San Fran !!!!!!

You all seem to forget that Jimmy Johnson was a different breed of coach. He didn't preach about being a RKG. He was upfront and honest about what he expected from his stars and his role players.

I wouldn't exactly compare Jason Garrett and his expectations and Jimmy Johnson's and his. ;)

So is it your position that a person who has no record, served no time should be shunned from their profession for perpetuity? No such thing as rehabilitation, second chance, etc.?

Yes. Men get away with stuff like this all the time. A guy with money - even more so. Nothing changes if you keep letting abusers play

I will also add...I think there were reports out of Carolina that said he had a problem with being late to meetings. I could be wrong on that, I do recall his teammates liked him but I also seem to recall that he was late to meetings with that team.

No, you're righ about that, and actually, his habit for tardiness goes back to his college days at Mississippi. That was one of many issues that caused him to drop to the 5th round.

garrett will convince jerry to let him go and then they will spend the entire offseason selling to the fans how next year will be different b/c hardy is gone and the chemistry is back. fans here will eat it up.

do you have any source to support this claim? it's cute how you think it's that simple and all. cute and naive.

Should they move on from Hardy or Mincey, considering it's Mincey that is trying to air 'dirty laundry'... Talk about a guy claiming to be about the team and not a cancer...

lmao!!!!

And if he said nothing to the question that was asked of him, or simply spouted some company line people would be here crying about how he's not being honest and he's just spewing the robotic company line.

Some guys are just not liked. It happens. I'm not surprised Hardy is one of those folks.

But that doesn't mean the guy can't play. As someone pointed out there were lots of team mates who didn't like Charles Haley either. Listen to some of the people talk about him on the Americas Game and you can see that just in the way they talk about him. Even when they're not dumping on him it's pretty clear which guys didn't mind him at all and which guys weren't really fans of his.

But they got along enough to win.

There is a huge reason for that. Haley was a stud. A HoF stud. He was a difference maker, all the time. When you're that great you can get away with folks not liking you as much and they'll still work just fine with you cause they see what you bring to the table.

When you're a difference maker, in the eyes of the players, here and there and disappear other times...and you're late for team meetings all the time. Yeah those players aren't going to be nearly as happy to work with you when they don't like you.

That's any job on the planet. Anyone trying to claim different is selling something or they're the guy that no one actually likes at work.

I also think people overstate how much he was "loved" in Carolina. Sure there were players there who liked him and spoke nice things about him just like you'll find some players here who like him.

You make good points. However, I think there's an element posters are missing: the coaches.

Jimmy Johnson may have been an awful husband and may have personified selfishness. But one thing he DIDN'T do is play this "everyone is equal" game like many coaches do.

He was upfront about it. He said he treats stars differently than RKGs. So his players understood from jump street what to expect, and if they didn't like it, well, there's the door.

But that's not what Jason Garrett says. Garrett says he wants RKGs. So when your mantra is that and you bring in a person who deviates from that and don't discipline him, it causes resentment.

Don't say one thing then do another. If you're going to play favorites, SAY IT like Jimmy did.

I don't think Garrett has, hence, the resentment and Mincey wanting to speak out about "Hardy's tardies." ;)

I'll bet players DON'T miss meetings much; nor be late. Or they are fined.

Untrue-ish.

We've heard this from Jesse Holley. He said players often are late or miss meetings but generally some guys have good track records with it and some don't.
He said some meetings are no more than 5 minutes so being late is missing it entirely.
Said it has even happened to Witten but no one bats an eye with a dependable guy like that because they know it is an extreme outlier.
Said a lot of time guys have to get in and get treatment before meetings and will be late due to that.

With Hardy we are all guessing but I am guessing he missed meetings led by the head coach and they butted heads after some of the stuff Hardy said in the media or posted. Then Hardy went passive aggressive and was late or missed meetings players normally would not miss such as meetings that occurs hours after everyone has arrived on campus. I could easily see Hardy doing something like lifting weights and finishing off a set before heading to the meeting room which would really hack off a coach. That would lead to this sharp difference of view on Hardy over the final 5-6 games.

I heard the same thing from CC, the way I see it once its accident, twice its a trend.

Cris Carter is rarely accurate on anything.

With my own eyes and relying upon no one I saw Hardy hug at least 25 Panthers before or after the Dallas game including obviously Cam who has been very vocal in his support of Greg.

Garrett was championing Hardy early saying he was his hardest worker and challenging the other guys to work harder. His support of Hardy obviously turned in a big way.

Any coach that treats everyone the same way lacks basic human understanding. Not all players respond the same way and doing things only one way is how you fail miserably as a manager/coach/mentor or even parent.

I have a friend who is a head varsity basketball coach and he says all the time... my job is to outsmart 16 year olds. I have to say/do what it takes to get what I want out of them.
