Mingo needs more targets

Dak wasn’t exactly Dan Fouts this season either . I’ve always thought the targets are on the roster it’s the delivery system the pentagon needs to look at .
Any GM in his right mind knows our WR group and route concepts are below standard for any starting QB. Now mix that with a QB who has a weaker arm......you get what you get.

I would like to see the receivers & tight ends working under a different OC then judge them .

No. Replace Cooks next year.
I surely wouldn't have a problem with that -- just offering an idea that Mingo's not likely to do any better than he did in Carolina. It looks like we'll be needing another WR in the draft, imho. It's fairly evident that we're short of another outstanding WR, aside from CD. Mingo might surprise us yet, but it seems doubtful. There's hope for Turpin, but he's not being utilized for some reason and I think Cooks might be washed up.

Maybe they've been saving Mingo for his return to Carolina

I just looked at Mingo a bit more. Small body of work in the NFL and didn’t produce a lot in college. His catch / target ratios are not good. Especially for a big guy. He definitely looks the part and is supposed to be a hard worker. There is a long line of these types of guys that aren’t good football players. I am dumbfounded they gave up a 4 for him. This upcoming draft is pretty deep with wideouts.
Dumbfounded? By this club?

Please realize this entire organization will do anything up to and including roster destruction to protect a singular senile old man's immense ego.

Mingo sucks. But you can expect him to continue to suck for years here and be told he's turning the corner.

I could care less what he did for Carolina, he is a Cowboy and he needs to do more than block. Break a tackle or come down with a deep pass. Mingo has to show something in the next 5 games.
I care, because what he did in Car is a huge portent of things to come. Why? Because players that suck mostly suck no matter where they go. The ones who break out after sucking for one team are very very few.

Let's just keep spending 4th round picks on guys we don't use....sound strategy
4th round picks for somone else's suckage. Brilliant.

When was the last time we gave up a 4-7th round pick for a player and he was even decent?

2023

March 19: Cowboys acquire WR Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans for a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick.

March 14: Cowboys acquire CB Stephon Gilmore from the Indianapolis Colts for a 2023 fifth-round pick.

Jerry made the trade. We have to deal with it. That San Francisco 3rd string running back would look real good in a Cowboys uniform right now with the 4th round pick we wasted on Lance.

Of course, that's simply stating the obvious. However, discussing what we think about it is what this site is all about.

Excellent stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mingo needs more separation and for Rush to get him the ball.

This is so ridiculous I don't know how to respond 4 days later.

10 whopping targets with the Cowboys so far.

It ranks right up there with saying Deuce has been given opportunities.
he said that as if he's been starting all the games he's been here for, has had 10+ targets each game! lol

Need to throw the ball to him and not at his feet or over his head.
That would be a good start, he has been open quite a bit but Rush isn't capable of getting the ball to him for whatever reason.

Plus, he plays one snap, the ball is thrown in the dirt then they take him out. How can he do any worst than Tolbert at this point?
