Degrom can go across town but Torres or Andujar better be one of the 17 players coming back across. If not, then forget it. Nothing else the Yankees may offer is even interesting.

The Wilpons were cheap well before Madoff, they just used that as an excuse to continue on. That scandal did hurt but is not the underlying problem.
I have a feeling DeGrom goes across town but Thor stays, his injuries are a concern.
No dice
5-6 years of Torres and Andujar is too much for even 3 postseasons from Degrom
The Yankees farm is very very deep.....you can come up with 4 players
Then it is a no goThey are deep but are any of the ones being offered in the top 20. Sheffield is #41 on the MLB list and he isnt worth losing DeGrom over.
Two more games to play in this series. A few really good teams out there. We'll see how it all plays out.
Let's go Yankees!
He just made the AA AllStar teamIt looks like the Tebow to Flushing is gaining steam. I hope he makes it to the majors but I just dont see how he solves any of the multitude of Mets problems other than selling a few extra tickets. Of course Cespedes has quit so he wont be back until the start of next year when he plays a few games and pulls a pinky muscle and goes on the DL again. Next years outfield will be Nimmo in Center, Conforto in right, and Tebow in Left. Man o Man....
Never thought they would be giving my Nats troublesThe Phillies have a better record now then they did in 2008, when they won the WS. To top it off, my boy Odubel Herrera has more HR's now then he did all season last year.
Hey Trouty.Thank you my brother!
I think teams are going to start following the TB model in the playoffs and using their bullpens for an entire gameIn all seriousness, Yanks BP had a killer month of June. BPs win Chips
Yup. The BP/6-man rotation/specialty inning pitchers are the new wave of pitching deployment. We've been doing it since 2014 in Anaheim, but not because we are good or can, but out of necessity. Still, because I watch a lot of Angels' games, you could see a trend develop when our extended rotation/by-commitee worked, as it has it's benefits. Batters have never had it so difficult post-5/6th innings. In the postseason, give me the better, dominant BP over lineup and starters 10/10 times, now (assuming a competent -- but not dominant -- other two aspects of the roster)I think teams are going to start following the TB model in the playoffs and using their bullpens for an entire game
Start with a 100mph guy like the All Star game and let him go a couple innings
Then bring in a Lefty
Then mix and match for the rest of the game
Do it Game2 after your Ace goes Game1 and then use the scheduled day off after Game2 to recharge the bullpen
It is easier to find Bullpen arms then Ace pitchers......not everyone can get a Verlander like last year

I don't agree with any of rules to shorten the game. If you don't like baseball, don't watch it. It is a three hour plus game, full of numbers and stats and chess-like moves (when you have a competent manager coughcough)...
...with that said, I pray to our baseball overlords that they eliminate, or at least put rules on, the shift. It is killing left handed hitters. Eliminate the shift. The NL doesn't need a DH, the clock thingy is stupid, the mound visit count is lame. Baseball game-times have gone down by 6 mins this year, and i'm sure that makes Manfred all hot and horny. Whatever. Just eliminate the damned shift!!! I want my Kole back
The shift is a relatively (in age of baseball years) new tool used by managers, it doesn't upset the game's sanctity (which I am all about protecting) to make it right.
Small ball isn't dead. Reverse the shift!!!! Hitters will always pull unless you're an Altuve or Trout. The shift sucks but what is worse is these hitters still try to pull. It is easy to bunt or poke the bat down the 3rd baseline. That is on coaching and players, not the rules. Small ball is all but dead
