Yes, it's airbrushed, thank you! ...but my avatar is me.
With airbrushed biceps. I dunno, if that was me, I'd have airbrushed a full head of hair like Gino Vannelli. I remember when he was around, the girls were nuts for him and then along comes Yanni, same hair without the perm. Guys like me, with challenged cranium follicles, never had a chance. However, if I had head lice, they'd be homeless so there's always a silver lining.

Morning Pops and those aware that this is the last weekend of a decade and should be treated as such. Can't procrastinate on this and put it off until next weekend.

And just what does this signify, you ask? The music from the 00's will officially fall into a retro category and the 90's will take on more of a life of their own. The one thing I noticed about the music of the 80's, 90's and 00's from the people in the sweet spot for that music was their complaint that it would not reach the status that the Oldies, 60's and 70's did but they were wrong because there was some great music from each decade, they just didn't realize it at the time. Because they saw it as just music and not the memory connection it would bring.

In the radio stations I had were two Oldies stations and that word would evolve into Classic because the people that lived it, didn't like anything with the word "old" in it. I was fortunate enough to have research with the first one in PA because the fear was burn on the music because there just wasn't any new music coming in because the belief was Oldies died with the breakup of The Beatles. For some, that marked the end of music and I met them by the dozens.

There were two groups of listeners that we could label. Those that lived it and those that wish they had. The latter were the younger listeners that had either grown up around it or had some attachment that they couldn't explain. I love Big Band/Standards because I grew up around that and I do think about living at that time as well.

So, we get the music roll over Wednesday and I wonder what gems we will get to hear again that was really much better back then than we realize. As much as people say they despised Disco, it is still one of Sirius/XM's most listened to formats. I can remember some friends saying they were happy for it's demise but they were wrong, music never dies.

When I think of everything in this world and what I could do without, the very last on the list is music. Even early antecedents of ours knew because musical instruments were crafted before fire or the wheel. Because who's going to jump in their ride and tool around without some tunes?

So, I would like to extend a Happy New Decade of music from those that speak to us as only they can. If not for what they do, music, the connection from the mind to the soul would be missing. I thank them for making life a continuing journey of imagination and mystery.

Morning, Pops and Pen pals. My daughter and I are going to the game this afternoon . We all went wine tasting yesterday and then on to the Local Goat Distillery for food. They make their own gin and rum there. It was pretty good. Have a great day, everyone.
Do you need a son? I find myself currently parentless and you seem like just the kind of Dad I'd like. Wine tasting and sneaking off to visit a bootlegger that is so civic minded they only distill local goats? Besides that, you could better trust me at our place in the Bahamas if I were part of the family. Not much, but some.

Good morning Pops and all is right in CC's College Football World and yes, that deserves caps because I devoted a hell of a lot of my life to watching institutes of higher learning display why they really exist. I was rewarded with the two teams that I dislike the most getting ousted and both looked bad doing it.

OU had no business being in it or any team from the Big 12, they represented their conference exactly as they should, keeping that no Big 12's in the Championship game streak alive. However, they are fun to watch but that ain't real football. If the Cowboys do hire Riley, he'll be back in college in 3 years. OSU kept shooting themselves in both feet with penalties and settled for 3's when they should have gone for 7's. But I've been anti OSU since the Woody Hayes days. Then they hired that scumbag Meyer.

Most of the time, a player wins the Heisman and creates more interest from the fringe audience, they tune in and wonder what's the big deal? Well, Joe Burrow (Burreaux) did something I've never seen before and I've got 60 years of watching football. I have never, ever seen a season like the one he is having. No one has, he continues to raise his own bar and any team with that first pick is crazy not to invest that in him. I am glad the Giants and Skins have young QB's and do not have the 1st pick. If that were me, I'd take him anyway and I'd hire Joe Brady, his pass game coordinator they hired away from the Saints to come along with him.

Enjoy the games today and I hope this is the last Cowboys game of this season, really do not like this team. I am tired of these sissies hiding behind their coaches and letting them take all of the heat. They want to show off during a game or do something stupid on social media but when it comes to being a man and standing up, they all fall down. Granted, Garrett doesn't make it easy to stand up for him because he's not taking any hits for the team but Cowboys players have this tendency to hide when it gets the hottest. Step up and own it. No one is going to get down on them for admitting they're not holding up their end of the deal with execution. Really ready to see this team, as assembled, ride off into the off season.

Good afternoon Pops and friends. Runny, I'm so sorry about your best friend. I can't say about the bird but something seemed to be going on to get your attention.

I had a job once with an obnoxious starting time. The snooze buttons on my alarm clocks wore out pretty fast, so I'd get a new one. It had pleasant bird sounds to wake me up. After a couple of weeks, I wanted to kill every bird in the sky. I think it lasted 3 months before I snapped and got a different one with a cd player. If I liked a song, it could not go on the alarm clock cd. Lots of songs peeved me after that. Interesting story there, Xelda. What does it have to do with any thing? I don't know, Runny was talking about birds and I remembered that alarm clock. Yes, you did. Yup. Is everyone looking funny at us? I think so. Quick, act like you've got an appointment and leave. Ok. This episode of Sybil was brought to you by the birds.

I read yesterday about this being the end of the 10's this century and we need to appreciate our music. I was going to respond but decided to crank up my music and internalize my enjoyment. I did my best, Coach. The 20's are upon us and I hadn't shown them a single shred of respect yet. Normally, I would but I'm sort of glad to steamroll out of the 10's. I look forward to new music as long as people can sing in un countryfied tones, musicians play the same song at the same time and not jazzify it. Keep rap and death metal off the elevators please. As always, I will find my music regardless of other's tastes and trends.

Today is supposed to be our last game of the year. I never thought this season would end up the way it did. FOX Sports made fun of us and I can't get mad at them for it. I still love my Cowboys and want who ever these body snatchers are to return them to me. I can't get fancy about my football or intellectual. It's the Cowboys no matter what even though they (to quote Runny) don't deserve our love. Yell as loud as you can Leon and enjoy it as much as possible. I will close with a weak Go Cowboys. Have a good Sunday all.

Did I say they don't deserve our love? Wow, what a dick I am!

As for my friend, that was almost two years ago now, and I'm sure you offered your condolences back then, so thanks again.

Morning Pops and friends.

30 something degrees, rainy, and windy here in Manhattan this morning. Fortunately, I'm in Northern Manhattan, and my next stop is back in CT, so I don't have to deal with too much city today.

Gotta say, I'm kinda relieved the Cowboys aren't going into the playoffs. Now I can stop worrying about the next disappointment until next season.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Monday morning Pops and welcome to the last Monday of the 2010 decade that feels more like a Friday for those off tomorrow.

There is justice, the Cowboys will be sitting home and I enjoyed the disgust in Aikman's voice as he had to do that game. I don't know if that was Booger's most disappointing season, as he suggested, but there is no question the talent level on that team should have won the East. To lay that on one coach or player really doesn't do it for me, there was something really rotten on that team and it might have been they really weren't a team. Too many "stars" and good luck to the next guy that tries to make them a team.

Great game last night and the night before. Seldom is there a game like that to end the regular season and it has not been a great regular season, I am hopeful that the playoffs will be better than the regular season.

Now, everyone is on Garrett Watch to see what's going to happen and it will be interesting to see how long Booger tries to milk the media when there are other stories to be told.

Good morning Pops and friends. I haven’t gone outside yet, waiting until it warms up a little more. It’s 51° right now brrr

The Cowboys ended with a W but feels like a L. My football season is officially over. Might watch bits and pieces of the playoffs but not going to schedule around any games including the SB.

Patches of clover has been spouting in the yard. I’ll be mowing sometime this week.

No big plans for New Year’s other than having the family over. If it doesn’t get too cold, I’ll build a fire and sit out back. The grandkids live sitting outside by the fire pit.

If JG gets fired today, I will fire up the bbq pit and invite the whole block. ;). I don’t like seeing a man losing his job but he’s been compensated well sooo....
