Morning Pops and great news from Jan on her closing on her new house, soon to become a home. In celebration of her closing, the IRS moved the tax filing deadline from that day and moved it a full 3 months so not to interfere. Now I have two reasons to celebrate that day. I always make it a point to celebrate anything the federal government does for people instead of to them.

I got a text from my cousin, more like a brother, in DEN that they are closing the liquor stores and pot stores, except for the medicinal ones, today. I am assuming the traffic in people at the liquor stores prompted this decision and I wonder the number of people they'll see today? And even if they allow for home shipping, adults have to sign for that and the HEB stores have eliminated beer and wine from their home delivery because no contact is allowed.

Now y'all know me, I ain't gettin' blindsided by this. I stay prepared for any catastrophe that might last up to a year. However, I did survey my free standing bar and noticed a couple of holes that need attention so I am off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Hooch while he still remains essential.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to everybody who stops in today.

Well, it's Taco Tuesday around here. The Wife is going to cook up some vidals and they are going to be great, they always are!

So looks like Fredbeard is hanging it up. Well, can't say I blame him. I mean, everything that's going on, the disease is somehow related to the immune system so might be for the best. Either way, I wish him well. Seems like a good dude.

Congratulations Jan.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, how you guys doing today? I hope all is well for everybody. Already on Tuesday and tomorrow is hump day. Then, we start towards the weekend again and you know what, another week down in this whole Virus mess. We are getting there people!

Everybody, chin up. Everything is coming together and soon, we are going to be back to a more normal way of life. Just hang in there a little while longer!

Have a great day everybody!

Evening Pops and friends. Congratulations on your home, Jan! I know you'll enjoy it for many years to come.

Good to see Montanalo post since he's been under the weather. Don't forget to feed the back up cats and drink plenty of fluids. Gargle with warm salt water as momma would always say. When I was growing up, she'd listen to make sure I was gargling a sufficient amount of time.

Poor Leon stranded in paradise. We could send O'Coach to you, but he's sort of a fire hazard. Many of us would love to come down, but my governor came out today and sang two songs. Keep Yourself Alive by Queen for the tax payers and I'll Be Alright Without You by Journey for the non tax payers. He also told us to get our butts home and stay there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Everyone be safe please. Don't do anything stupid unless you promise to bring us the details.

Evening Pops and everyone.

I am so tired today. Did not sleep well last night and today druuug on. At the end of the workday I realized it was only Tuesday. What a let down that was! These modified work hours are an adjustment I cannot make. Hmmm... maybe I should use my extra time in the morning and go for a walk on the treadmill before getting ready for work...

People at the office today found a half price pizza special so they were each ordering XL pizzas for themselves... and someone else got the bright idea to pick up ice cream on their way back from lunch. I was so proud of myself for avoiding it all and by the time I finished with supper this evening was kind of mad because I ended up with a salad. Don't get me wrong, it was a great salad but c'mon. I passed up pizza! Half price pizza at that (smh)! When I'm moving in a few weeks I am picking up pizza and beer/soda for whoever helps me out (I'll take red wine with mine, thank you:)). Figure I'll work it off with all the running back and forth and up and down the stairs (no elevator in my building). This move can't happen soon enough for me.

Hit midweek and bust through for the slide into the weekend folks. March is about out of here.

(Very early) Morning Pops and everyone.

After 3am when I'm writing this. Been awake for over an hour now. The ending of the story is such that some jackwad tenant pulled the fire alarm in the hallway. The fire alarms were going off and the new on-site mgr was running around banging on doors. He stopped at my place and asked me if I knew how to turn it off. (?) Uhhhh...shouldn't you let the Fire Department do that once they've cleared the building and determined the emergency or lack thereof??? Dragged my tired butt down the stairs and met up with the firemen (I love men in uniform!) on the front sidewalk only to then find out there wasn't a fire. This building is laid out in such a way that only tenants on my side of the building have access through the security doors to my side (the East side), and West only has access to their side so it had to be a tenant or guest of someone on my side of the building. This is going to make for a very long day Wednesday... people are straight up idiots. Thought we'd gotten rid of the troublemakers, but apparently one remains somewhere.

Happy Wednesday... I guess.

Good morning Pops and friends. I’m at work. The coffee pot is full minus a cup. I’m enjoying a couple of Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies. It’s basically just two of us working now at the warehouse. It’s nice to be expendable...oooops I mean essential.
Happy Hump Day everyone. Be safe.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I will either be going home a few days early or staying in the Bahamas until the pandemic panic is over. The Bahamas imposed a nationwide shutdown yesterday without warning. No flights or cruise ships in or out of the country, period. My neighbor told me that the high speed ferry out of Ft. Lauderdale is being used to bring supplies into the country and taking Americans only back to Florida. They have runs planned on Thursday and Sunday.

I'm going to check it out with the ferry company and, if true, I will try to leave Thursday. I'm more than willing to ride it out here if I can't get out, but I do need to get the eye injections. So if I can leave, I will. Y'all have a great day.

Morning Pops and friends.

My dispatcher sent a group text to all the drivers this morning, asking if we're still willing to go to Manhattan. While I still hate that place, the traffic has been very light, comparatively speaking, and I need the overtime. I told him as long as the customers comply with the social distancing protocols and use their own pens to sign, and as long as the delivery is such that I don't need to bring a helper, it should be alright.

Then I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a sandwich and snapped at the guy behind me in line for being way too close. He hesitated, then slowly backed up, looking at me as though he had no idea what I was taking about. Then as he was driving out of the parking lot, he was sanitizing his hands!

Have I ever mentioned that I'm a misanthrope? I don't think this whole situation is going to change that for the better.

Oh well, have a wonderful day, my online friends who can't make me ill!

Good morning Pops and our brave Runny testing himself against mighty Manhattan. I would think that other than the people doing what he's doing, trying to keep it all running, would be about all the traffic he sees. Saw where the NYC hospitals are already nearing max occupancy and this is doubling every 3 days.

I agree, Runny, some do not get the social distancing, I had to go to the HEB and it was ridiculous. They do not have enough employees to police it and people will just come into your space. I don't like that when we're not in a pandemic, especially when we have 2 cases, 1 where I live.

All y'all better stay safe or we're going to have words. And you know I know a lot of naughty ones.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I'm taking the ferry to Ft. Lauderdale this afternoon. I'll be staying in a Holiday Inn Express so I will be an instant expert on any subject; just in case anyone needs advice. Will fly home tomorrow. The government instituted a 24 hour curfew here on Wed. But being the rebel I am, I went for a walk on the beach and fed the fishes in the channel anyway yesterday. Y'all stay safe.

I know it goes without saying, but please be extra cautious. We certainly don't need you or anyone else getting hit with this stuff.

Same goes for you Leon. Take every possible extra precaution you can. I'll keep you and Runny in my prayers.

Good morning Pops and home-bound friends,

Denver and the surrounding counties are now on lock-down. Interestingly enough, liquor stores and "hemp" dispensaries are considered essential and are open for business.

We made a run to the store yesterday and found that many grocery stores now offer "senior" shopping hours. Aside from a discount at the movie theaters, this is perhaps one of the better reasons to be over 60. Ha!! While there are still shortages of some items -- don't get me started on the ridiculous shortage of TP -- most items are available, especially fresh fruits and veggies. Thank goodness for truckers!!

After shopping we went for a half day hike at one of nearby state parks. Got to love Colorado -- while most shops and activities are shutdown, the state is encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. While on the hike, we encountered a group of 4 middle school kids and one set of parents... I held an impromptu geology class for them (at a resemble distance) describing the formation of the Rocky Mountains. At least one of us (me) had a lot of fun.

Is it me or does anyone else have a cynical view of the term, "social distancing"? It feels like any number of contrived words used today to soften the meaning of what we actually want to say. Why don't we simple say what we mean? Social distancing = STAY AWAY! Quarantine! Isolate! Do not come in contact! Whatever... just another thing to think about while I am social distancing.

:muttley:

One final thing... we have completed all of the title work and closing documents for the purchase of land in Montana... just have to send money on March 31... Montanalo is starting to grow on me.

How is everyone else??

My cousin said they were closing the liquor stores in DEN yesterday, they change their minds on that? He didn't know why and I assumed there were too many people gathering. This stupid toilet paper thing has made people completely stupid and stockpiling everything.

I read where some had bought a lot of meat at Costco and Sam's only to get home and realize they don't have the freezer space. Then there's the story about the man coughing on the Wegmans employee and the woman coughing on food on purpose.

It is a real shame this bug doesn't target it's victims by IQ. Just when I think humans can't possible get any dumber, this shows up to prove me wrong. Social distancing means nothing to most of the people, they're oblivious to it.

Morning Pops and welcome to your nightmare, nod to Alice Cooper. They've locked down my little town of 2K with the 2nd reported case but they calling it Stay in Place, Stay Safe and I like that, less ominous than a lock down....after our prison riot. Attica!! Attica!! Attica!!

That also sounds more like a request than an order, which is why it will be regarded as just that. Sorry, I am just too important with too many important things to do. If people will just protect the primary victims of this, we'll get through this.

I was at the HEB yesterday as people started getting the alert that a 2nd case was in Horseshoe Bay and instead of the shock that should register, they got even closer to "wonder who it is"? I picture these viruses talking among themselves "this is just too easy. I feel like I'm shooting ducks on the water". Let's not discuss the fact that I was at the HEB.

I hope you hunkerers are weathering this and have enough Isolation Libation, Lockdown Liquor and Virus Vittles. Just because there's a pandemic, no reason to desert our need for alliteration. Ahhh, if only Mrs. CC was still with me, could get me some Shelter Sugar.

New symptom, loss of smell can be a signal that we have it so chili is prescribed and don't scrimp on those beans.

Stay Safe, Stay Sane. It's only going to get crazier from here on out. Damn me, wish I wasn't so entertained by the sheer lunacy of humans but I am.

Good morning Pops and friends. The pollen counts are off the charts here and I'm coughing constantly. I saw on the weather channel that it was hard to tell the difference between allergies and the monster bug. I figure I'd cause a panic if I went anywhere, so I'm cooling my jets at home. I gave Bailey a puppy cut yesterday and she curled up next to me like she was freezing. Can I get a dutiful pet owner with a side of guilt, please? She looks cute in spite of her protests. Today looks and feels like SPRING!!!! I need to do some projects outside, but I don't wanna. You see what I've got to deal with? I have to force myself to do what I know I need to do. I'm probably going to need a play list for all of this.

Everyone be safe and watch out for men in Colorado that break forth in impromptu geology classes.
It's true! I hate to say it but that top monkey looks eerily like a monkey cross bred with a cat.
