Leon, I am glad to hear that you have come out, none the worse for wear. Nature can be a pain sometimes but then, you wake up, have a cup of coffee and go enjoy 18 holes of golf on a perfect day so she gives and she gets I guess.

ABQ, you a NASCAR fan? I used to watch a lot of NASCAR with my dad when I was younger. I've stopped, but he still watches every race. He used to race and build quarter midgets as a hobby

I used to be a die hard fan years ago. Anymore, not so much. I watch some of the big Races but not like it used to be. I actually like Champ Car Racing more but even that is a shell of itself and I don't really watch a lot of that either.

On the Bright side, maybe you and your youngster can start a tradition of sorts, like you and you Dad did?

My son and I have a tradition of going to Angel and Kings games, and watching the Cowboys on the weekends. A little sports nut in the making (when he isn't playing his video games with his school friends online). We also do a lot of hiking in Griffith park (where the HOLLYWOOD sign is) which is 5 miles from my house. He has never taken to racing, tho.

I was actually a King Richard Fan, loved to watch the old Winston Cup/Stock Car Racing series. Loved to watch The Alabama Gang, the Pearson Brothers, Cale Yarborough, Junior Johnson and, of course, Richard Petty, go at it. I think the racing was better then but then again, I have found memories of those kinds of things through a much younger set of eyes. LOL.....
