Morning, Pops and Pen Pals. TGIF! All you workers should be happy today. Yesterday was an exceedingly challenging day. It started out good as the wife, her mom and I went out to breakfast. Then we drove to DFW Airport where our granddaughter was supposed to arrive from California at 11:35. At 11:40 we find out that her flight had be re-directed to Witchita Falls due to weather. It would leave there at 12:45. Then we found out that the plane had mechanical problems and didn't leave there until approximately 4:00pm. She finally arrived at DFW at 4:40pm. By then the rush hour traffic was in full force.
Highway 360 and then IH 20 was bumper to bumper and, I'm not exaggerating here, we rarely got above 15 MPH on IH20 until 4 or 5 miles before the turnoff to Granbury. There is a little "blink and you'll miss it" town called Cresson. The genius railroad company put a train yard or switching station (not sure what you would call it) right next to HWY 377. The lights started blinking red and just before we reached the intersection, the engines crossed the road. The train went forward, stopped and changed direction no less than 5 times moving railroad cars around. We were held up for at least 15 minutes. What is normally a 1 1/2 hour drive took us 3 hours and 20 minutes. UGHHHHHH
Today will be better. Have a good one, folks.
