Gooooood afternoon Pops!
Back from the last of my tests until June. All clean :). Took 3 1/2 years since my last chemo treatment but my numbers on my bloodwork FINALLY are all back on point. Merry Christmas to me:D. Thanks everyone for the thoughts, well wishes and prayer.

Evening Pops and all the rest of this crazy, beautiful extended "family". Coming up on Christmas quickly and wishing I had more people around me to celebrate with and enjoy just... being. Feeling blessed to have stumbled onto this site and having you all here. Here's hoping we all get through the Christmas holiday safe and healthy (and healing...you know who you are). 1 test down last week, 1 to go with my 6 month follow up CT scan tomorrow... a good result would certainly make my Christmas. Be well and have a good evening.
Well here's to a very Merry Christmas!!

Afternoon Pops and friends. I'm glad you got a laugh out of that RGV. I haven't been in that kind of darkness in ages and the sounds coming from inside were messing with me. I had my elbows were locked and loaded.

We are all glad you're here, GrammaJan. This could quite possibly be the safest thread on the internet.

Hope everyone has a good Hump Day.

:lmao2:Elbows locked n loaded..good one

Is there a bridge in Catoosa and you walk them over for the exchange at midnight? Ole CC's imagination is starting to return to fertility.

Ha Ha. Nothing as melodramatic as that. We meet in a Mickey D's parking lot. My wife and I will probably have dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino next door though; so I will order a martini shaken, not stirred and look all suave in my Cowboys sweatshirt while pretended to be 007.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who stop in and visit the thread today.

Leon, safe travels Brother, hope all of that works out great for all.

Gramma, congratulations on the great news. That's really something, I hope it's the best Christmas ever for you!

LOL.... Coach, the bad old days are over. The wall has fallen and the KGB no longer sends blindfolded captives across, in exchange for Soviet Spies in Berlin. I think you just meet at Micky Ds or something now with the kids. LOL........

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John and Gramma, I hope you are all well today. Stay warm and enjoy a little good joy.

Everyone, have a great day!

Well, went for my first follow up visit and got that super sticky hugeass bandage removed and that should replace waterboarding for torture. I ran out of the real stuff to confess and started fabricating stuff and, thankfully, he finished before I got to the grassy knoll.

He is pretty impressed with my progress and ability to stand on my own and I have been downright fanatical about the PT. My goal is to be on the cane by Monday, two weeks after the surgery, and I will get there if not earlier. My PT worked with me yesterday on the cane and she was really impressed.

From the "Life's Lessons Never Stop" book comes another chapter for yours truly. I was getting pretty down about this operation as I fight tooth and nail not to be my age and the words "hip replacement" were a shot to the heart, not to mention, ego. I played that "why me"? card and started to feel sorry for myself. And that turned to anger. The "why me" wasn't a question, it was a shout.

After two nights in the hospital, talking with the nurses and therapists, I began to realize how lucky I was. I am actually on the younger end of the demo for having this done but the real luck is how the rest of my health is compared to what some others have to endure along with a new hip. My PT that comes to the house really set my perspective right with what some of her other patients have to go through.

Once again, I find myself disappointed in me that I let it slip into that but then proud that I was smart enough to not close my mind and let some others send some thoughts in there to influence my thinking and state of mind.

Life's Lessons just don't stop, unless one closes their mind or thinks they have all of the answers. Leaving that possibility, too often a probability, that what I am feeling or thinking might just be wrong allows me to take turns not backtrack and the road goes on forever and the party never ends. But my road might be a tad windier than some others'. But, I am lucky, I learned to forgive myself for being wrong.

Sigh, another fantasy bubble burst with reality. I like that martini idea...…….a lot!

Afternoon Pops and friends. Good news for GrammaJan and Coach! I accomplished today what I put off yesterday. A sense of pride and a twinge of guilt is just right.

What did they give you for pain, Coach? I Can't Believe It's Not Percodan or Tylenol? Those sticky bandages are a nightmare, but glad you are doing well.

Have a good day everyone and be safe Leon.

Hydrocodone but I only took one the first night home. I don't even take OTC pain meds often. It's those damned "legal" drugs that will gitchya every time. Funny, as much as I like to alter reality, pain meds are not my choice. Good thing as I have an addictive personality. Yeah, I am addicted to this one despite everyone's attempts to get me to get a new one.

Congrats on getting your stuff done. I am a professional procrastinator I figure why put off stuff I really don't intend to do and waste valuable procrastinating time. When my wife would give me a "honey do list", I always put notes beside each chore/errand with two questions, "Is this really important"? and "What happens to me if I don't do it vs doing it wrong"?

Morning Pops and friends. I hope Thursday was good to everyone. Celebrate the Fridayness of this day in the spirit which it was meant.

I was joking about the pain pills, Coach. Those things mess with me so badly that I squirrel them away for when I'm in pain and don't want to see a doctor. (I never want to see a doctor.)

Wednesday's to do list was bigger than what I got accomplished yesterday, so I might do more today. I'm thinking about raking the neighbors leaves out of my yard, but don't want to if they've still got a huge pile ready to blow my direction once I clean my yard. Yesterday I saw the poetic images of fall as the wind whipped my leaves upward. A sound track from some 1930s movie of impending cruel actions played in my head as I watched the leaves spin and dance. Winter is coming! It's the deep South so unless someone from Game of Thrones shows up in full costume, I'm not too worried.

This is where I get in trouble and it usually takes at least twice as long to correct or costs money to fix/repair/replace/accept life without it.

Have a good Friday and weekend everyone!

I can't believe your PT was able to get a word in. Did she give you a trick bottle of alcohol to shut you up??

CC, I'm happy for you, and proud of you for not only listening to your PT, but being eager to do the therapy. You'll be self sufficient in no time!

Good noonday to you Pops and fellow Forumaniacs.

Well, I hate to brag but your ole CC has been dazzling the nurses and PT's and is on the cane, not exclusively, as of yesterday. I get the staples out, and personally I feel there are far too many, next Thursday and have to get some shenanigans in before then in order to have more to confess. My cutter won't be doing it, his PA will so the last confessions might work unless he shared these last ones. I might just get some racey ones just for her.

For the first time, I am glad Mrs. CC isn't here to see this. She loved my butt, thought it was as cute as a baby's, but it will be permanently scarred forever. If CapnB had this surgery, he might have to wear pants. However, I will have a more butch looking butt with an 8" scar and if a biker gang corners me, I'll drop trou and they will cower in fear. "Say hello to my leetle friend".....Scarbutt.

I hear chicks dig scars, so maybe it would've been hard for your wife to keep her hands off!
