Afternoon Pops and friends! WE WON!!!!! What a miserable game. I had doubts the whole time. After the Amari catch in over time, I was waiting for a flag. It didn't come. Wait, a flag's not coming? Does that mean.... WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!? It's become ridiculous how much flag throwing there is in games now and nit picking on big plays. Every time I see yellow material, I think "what did we do this time?". Just some after the fact grumbling, but I had to get it out of my system. Have a great day everyone.

Morning, Pops and Cowboys fans. Happy hump day! We're going to have warm weather today with a high in the mid-sixties. Unfortunately I can't join my buddies in golf today because I have a detached retina. They injected some gas into my eye to push the retina back in place. My follow up appointment yesterday revealed that it's working like a charm. Just needs time to heal. Have a happy day, everyone. I wish we could all get together for cookies and ice cream.

Afternoon Pops and friends. So sorry to hear about your eye, Leon. Best wishes and a prayer headed your way. I don't know if your eye condition hurts, but it's really painful thinking about it. It's supposed to rain today, but it's fairly nice right now. Have a good hump day and be safe everyone.

Leon, I echo thoughts, sorry to hear about the eye troubles but sounds like its coming along. Won't be long before you are out there again Brother.

My Son dropped off the Boy early this morning so I was busy this morning. Sorry to be late to the thread.

Evening Pops and friends. It's been a strange day which required a reboot and twice as much caffeine as normally required. It rained off and on today which I find peaceful. No kids out screaming like they're being sacrificed. A neighbor is raising the next Pavarotti. When that kid throws a fit, I'm certain two or three blocks away can hear it. Oh well, it was quiet today. Have a good evening everyone.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. Yesterday the forecast for today was heavy rain so we canceled our tee time. Today, the forecast says only a 10 to 15% chance in the morning and none in the afternoon. Dang it. Have a great day, Y'all.

Morning Pops, and happy Friday!

I'm just finishing up my first week of many, sitting on the couch with my arm in a sling, and you know, I don't really miss work.

I'm not crazy about sitting idle, but I do what I can to feel productive. Drove to the supermarket yesterday (shhhh) and picked up groceries, mostly one hand food, like bagels and granola bars.

Gotta do some exercises now. Everyone have a splendid day!

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to any and all who decide to stop in and check out the thread this morning.

Well, headed to a funeral today, my Cousin passed and they are laying her ashes away today. I feel bad for her family and for the kids but it's a necessary process and you gotta deal with it. Family just needs to be there for the children. Having said all of this, I hope all of you are doing well and are heading for a good weekend. Enjoy it, live well and take advantage of the good times. You never know how many are in front of you so don't take them for granted. Same with family and people in your life. OK, enough of that.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW and John, hope you are all doing well today. Work out the day, if you have work, hopefully most of you are either taking time or close to taking time for the Holidays. Enjoy your Friday my friends.

Everyone, have a great weekend!

Morning Pops, morning Cowboys fans, and a special good morning the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders!

Sorry for all the family being lost here, and I hope a long time passes before anyone else does!

FYI guys, if I start telling people I love them, they'll put away.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Good afternoon Pops and how ironic that there should be so much addressing loss, a thread devoted to a man lost too young.

Having lost those closest to me all of my life, two that brought me into this world, I can speak first hand that this time of year can be a huge pain in the heart. At first, I just wanted to get past it and hated those commercials showing families gathered and enjoying each other. Then I began to learn. Being the victim of loss and sorrow just helps deepen the hole

Loss of loved ones is a hole. It is not a stagnant hole but one that can grow if we do not seek to constantly fill it. It is not filled with tears; it is filled with memories. And sometimes it is those very memories of this time of year, that we seek to avoid, that can most effectively address that hole. When those we love and ourselves are at our best, more caring and kinder.

Memories are the agents of healing; we can choose to use them to remember those we've lost as they would want us to or choose to use them as a shovel. And I can speak first hand, it is never too early to use those memories. They are our friends, they're there to keep us company when others can't. I shunned mine for too many seasons and I dwelled alone....in my hole. Why were these memories created if not for me to use them when they were most needed? Memories know best; that's why we can't keep them away, they know what's best for us.

My friends, I return to you, on a part-time basis, with a new friend, Hector. Hector is my new hip and he's a metal head, titanium to be exact. Say hello to Hector. I plan on teaching him the Bossa Nova.

I am not in a lot of pain, except when I do the wrong things. Unfortunately, I specialize in doing the wrong things. I am on a walker and hope to get to the cane by a week from now. I have reflected on the idea that I may have used too many "walker jokes" in the past and karma is jumping me.

I will come back and spend more time with my Zoner family when I am still not hungover from the anesthesia, just can't shake it and writing takes a lot of concentration. Those of you that know me here know I can drift but this is different and I hate this feeling.

I hope you get back to 100% soon CC. Maybe you can go from walker to jogger someday

Afternoon Pops and friends. I mean evening. I don't know what I did today, but apparently it took all day to do it. Leon teased me with some NFL games, but I couldn't find them. Looks like the PJG is on injured/reserve right now. I wrote a song about it. o_O I owe you an apology, Coach. Karma showed up at my house over the summer looking for a Cowboys fan and I said he could be found in Texas and goes by the name CouchCoach.

Are you going to make an account for Hector to post with us? It would be interesting to hear you shooting from the hip.

Maybe from walker to yoga...pants. Everybody get your shots in while he can't catch you. Have a good evening and be rested for tomorrow's game everyone!.

You write the Greeting Cards, I'll illustrate them..........Seriously, I think there must be a way to use your words and experience to help people cope.
