Morning Pops and fellow fearful posters that checked to see if monkeys flew outta der butts while they were sleeping. Personally, I dug those "Oreo" cats with the big hats. And I gotta say, when The Wizard of Oz was written, they should have legalized pot right then and there, did we need more proof that more people needed to get stoned and take little trips? It would be decades later when The Beatles would validate that with Yellow Submarine. Coincidence that both gave us iconic songs? I think not.

Well, turbulent times have tempered since ole CC tackled Turbo Tax and by a twist of fate reversed his fortunes of 2018. I am getting back exactly what I had to pay extra in 2018. The only other taxoddity was in 2015 when my taxes came out to exactly what had been withheld and I decided not to tempt the taxfates and promptly retired the following month in 2016.

It's a good thing since the county of Burnet, TX will be getting some of my easy earned government money because the damned Sheriff thought it was his duty to give me a traffic citation even though I argued successfully that 45 was way too low when there was plenty of room to go 70. I say successfully because he agreed with me, in principle, as he continued to hand me the ticket. He actually had the nerve to say "God bless" as he was departing to which I replied "if God cared, you would have been on another road and I'd be halfway to Austin". He laughed, small consolation, because I had successfully gotten warnings the previous times I've been stopped since I moved down here but those were state bulls and not some elected do gooder who thinks he's been sent by God to uphold the law and protect the citizens......from me. My radar detector, Scout, did his job, too damned many hills in the Hill Country, they need to mow some of these muthas down level because Scout can't see through hills.

I have found the best way to handle being pulled over is just to be up front. I beg, cry and flash a little cleavage and if that doesn't work, I just tell the truth. The Governor's been shot, I am a priest and on my way to give him his last rites. Bless you, my son, now I must be on my way.
Good morning Pops and Zoner Friends.

I have to hand it to you @CouchCoach, in this otherwise "black hole" portion of the football season, you never ceases to bring a smile to my face.

Well, we meet with the new tax CPA yesterday afternoon. He seemed quite impressed with my 2 inch think file folder that was catelogued by tax category. I particularly liked the way his eyes rolled into his skull when I explained that I needed to file a federal, state, and two foreign tax returns. I could literally see dollar signs above his head. Yeapers, I think I got a winner. :)

I haven't had the pleasure of receiving a speeding ticket in quite some time. However, your story reminded me just how must I detest driver's that talk or text while hurdling down I25. I now honk every time I pass someone using their cell phone and follow that up with the universal "wave". Judging from their facial expressions, most are very thankful for my safety reminder... At least, that is my interpretation of their reaction.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to any who stop by this way today.

Taxes, hate this time of year.

To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, ‘tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause: there’s the respect That makes calamity of so long life; For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay, The insolence of office and the spurns..........

Hamlet, Act III, Scene I

Little known fact that Hamlet was actually referring to Taxes here. True story...........

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan and Corso, we are about half way through the work week, headed towards Easter Weekend!

Gotta get busy dying some eggs and getting some shopping done for Easter. Hope everybody is doing well today, have a great day!

I feel left out, I don't have a CPA, But I've got a lawyer, guess that says something about my state of affairs?

My experience with CPA's is that they're a little too dry and not enough "hand buzzer and whoopie cushion" for my taste. Even my hip cutter had a sense of humor.

When I walked in to the CPA's office yesterday, one whole wall was covered in Denver Bronco memorabilia from by-gone days. I was wearing my Cowboys ball cap. We both looked at one another and sighed a little sigh of recognition and appreciation.

:lmao:

Afternoon Pops and friends. ABQ, are you trying to kulcher us with Shake Spear? I was not prepared. Colo, I guess I could bring my "don't mess with me" look to your accountant. Kudos on the come back to the CPA. Well, well, well. We should have known Coach was once again on the wrong side of the law since he's been quiet lately. I think you should go with the governor story instead of showing cleavage. It's much safer.

Everyone be safe in the coming storms.

Can you believe I remembered something from my Shakespeare classes in college?????

Kudos to you for recognizing it!!!!!!

In this instance, one of the characters is making fun of a lady's size that is coming toward them w/ a message. He's saying that she is as big as a ship!!!
